Need help installing Victoria 5

Hello,

I am well aware there are numerous other threads similar to mine, but everyone seems to either find the correct installation folder without mentioning it specifically or have an entirely different error. Mine is the dependency issue that requires Genesis files that are not there, which is strange when considering that I have installed the starter essentials and have them show up in the program and work.

From my limited understanding, V5 is merely a morph for Genesis, but I cannot for the life of me find its location, which is why I have been attempting to install it by brute force instead:

C:\Users\\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\People
C:\Users\\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\People\Genesis
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base\Morphs
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base\Morphs\DAZ 3D
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base\Morphs\DAZ 3D\Base
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base\UV Sets\DAZ 3D\Base
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\People
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\People\Genesis
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\People
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis\Characters

Needless to say, neither of them are correct. If anyone could help me find the elusive installation folder, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You seem to be installing content in two locations; one under user and one under public.
Are both locations known to DS? If not, make sure you enter them under Edir--> Preferences --> Content Library.
Or better, merge them under the public folder structure, rather than the user folder structure.
Also, are you installing manually only, or also using DIM?

Here's where you can find information about Genesis:
    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/14812/start
    And Victoria 5:
    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/13439/start

They both have file lists as well, so you can compare your installation to how it should be.
    File List for Genesis:
    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/14812/file_list
    File List for Victoria 5:
    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/13439/file_list

First make sure both really are installed. Open Installation Manager and go to the tab labeled installed. In the search box at the top type "Victoria 5". If it shows right click the entry and select show instal path to see where she is installed. Then repeat those steps for "Genesis Starter" this will verify they are installed and just as importantly tell you WHERE.

Once your sure you have both go into Preferences>content Library and make sure those same exact instal paths are listed under your libraries if not hit the add button and add them.

A quick glance at the file list solved the mystery. If it were a zip. file, I would have seen the correct folder right away. What I didn't know was that V5 installs files in several of the folders I tried, meaning the correct folder would be:

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library

Which I'm ashamed to admit should have been my first guess. I did install content in two different folders and they both show up and work, but it's probably a good idea to have a single unified folder structure. Thank you very much for your help!

It sounds as if you have the old Bitrock installer (from a magazine cover disc?). I'm pretty sure the content has been updated since Victoria 5 was on a cover disc, or delivered in an installer, so it's probably worth getting the current version - at one time I think you could open a Sales support ticket and, on showing proof of purchase for the magazine or book, could get the item added to your DAZ order history, but after all this item that may well not be true any more.

I can confirm this. Got V5 on my account after providing a photo of magazine, cd and receipt
