Is there a way to reset Auto-Fit data?

hi all,

i have been trying to use some older clothing i have on G3 or G8 but the auto-fit seems to be a 'one time only' thing and i want to know how to reset it to come up every time

hypothetical example: i try to fit an A3 dress to G3F but by mistake i pick G2 as the original instead of A3. naturally it applies incorrectly.

now if i delete the dress and try to re-apply a new copy, it always uses the bad selection i previously made, it doesn't even bring up the dialog box.

how can i force DS to bring up the dialog again so i can pick a different choice?

one real example of this happening is trying to fit A3's 'the maid' outfit to G3F using the 'wear them all' clones. for most items the dialog doesn't even show, but it does for a few. e.g. the apron works but not the skirt. is there any way of forcing the dialog to open?

----> i may have solved it for the A3 stuff, the dialog only shows if i first parent the object to the G3F and *then* select fit-to G3F. if i just have it floating loose and select fit-to G3F, no dialog box.

------------> aaaaaand i have to use the 'change nnn parent' RMB command. i can't parent it by simply dropping it onto the G3F in the scene list like i normally would.

--------------------> it never works the first time. it always works the second time.

It's the same if you do something like, say, edit the geometry and assign a new surface to a selection. For the current session, any new version of whatever you edited will come with your alterations. The only way I know how to break the association is to close down and restart Studio.

As long as you don't save your altered version over the original, a restart will fix it.

It's not 'one time only' - it's 'one time per session'. And I don't understand why it happens either!
