The Medieval Village Mansions Construction Set https://www.daz3d.com/medieval-village-mansions-construction-set is a really nice, well done fantasy village. My only objection is: this is definitely NOT medieval. Starting with the chimneys, and a lot of other details. Whoever needs a real medieval setting should not use this.
The set itself looks very much nice and tidy fantasy, I would use it für illustrations of a children's book in a heartbeat. I just find the name misleading.

I agree. It does look more fantasy than medieval. Most of my renders are set in a vaguely Tolkienesque fantasy universe where I can set my own rules so this is top of the weekend's shopping list.
Cheers,
Alex.
Just for the interior walls, I'm going to say this is an awesome product anyway. It definitely has some medieval elements, though also some 18th and 20th century ones. So while it might not be suitable for "realistic" renders, it's more than useful for fantasy, seasonal and Hogwarts-inspired renders.
Yes, very fantasy but very nice. Always looking for that level of detail. Anybody wanting to do fanart for Harry Potter or World of Warcraft or anything in that sort of genre would definitely want this. Maybe not so much Tolkein...thinking of Bree possibly, or Dale...but these might be a little too fantasy for Tolkein's Race of Man cities. Then again, maybe they aren't! Either way, it's going on my wishlist!
Looks more like Victorian Style architecture to me.
Edit looks like some german architecture mixed in also.
Just because it says Medieval in the title doesn't mean it's a replica of the time period. All it means is inspiration was drawn from the period. It's a common practice in this industry. You draw inspiration from one period and basically kitbash different time periods to establish artistic freedom making it your own creation. I take hundreds of photo references on my big backs and may take the trim out of one and the layout out of another and then contour out of yet another. You can't usually take a single image and say he copied that in most of my products. You name packs based on the core inspiration that got you to the final product in most cases. It isn't to mislead people which is what everyone wants to believe, not that this is being said here but is said quite often in these type of circumstances.
I also see a Tudor feel about them. which was a house built by the Noble Born, in the later medieval period. In the same period, Peasants lived in Wattle and Daub houses that were taller and wider than the simple stick and straw houses from the earlier period of time.
Tudor Nobel can also be built with brick, but it was expensive so only the richest would have them in brick
Early medieval Peasants
Same period as the Tudor Peasants
