Has anybody else problems with "Big Expressive 8.1 for Genesis 8.1 Male"?

JUJUJUJU Posts: 1,131

Hi,

for me most of the expressions don' t work. I updated to 4.20 and installed the essentials again, but nothing chanched. 35 of 50 expressions do ... nothing.... (or same like the zero ). Has anybody else this problem? I use the Content Library tab. I found the dials and they are working. But not most of the Expression Presets in the Content Library.

Any ideas? I know, I can open a ticket, that I will do if here no suggestions for solution.

Thank you.

I haven't tried using the Male version yet, but I did have major name collisions with "Big Expressive 8.1 for Genesis 8.1 Female".  The duplicate formula spam causes loading files to wait on a dialog box so I couldn't batch render so unfortunately I had to uninstall.  Hopefully these can get fixed, but I have not opened a ticket yet.

I opened a ticket and they said that they can reproduce the error and will investigate it.

I have issues with both the male and female product, but the response from support so far was underwhelming. I was asked to uninstall the character that "created the error in the log". Which, of course, did not solve a single error. Other characters showed up. I have serious doubts - from that first encounter - that the issue will be solved at all. I am currently considering to return the product.

Another chiming in about the Big Expressive pack for males 8.1. I have the one for females 8 and it works without a hassle but the males 8.1 takes my male 8.1 load time from under a minute to pushing 20  mins T_T

I have exactly the same issue with the big expressive pack for female 8.1 : it takes age to load a charater and if I have a few of them in a scene, it just freeze. My only option was to uninstall the pack load whatever I need to load, the install the pack back, each time I'm making a scene.

Have the problems with these products ever been resolved?

To be honest, I forgot about this. I have a look into the ticket and found an answer that the expressions were updated. But I tried an nothing changed for me.

Now I opend a further ticket. sad

    Hi,

It looks like "Big Expressive 8.1 for Genesis 8.1 Male" was recently updated. When testing the product on my end, I was able to apply the expressions to the Genesis 8.1 male figure now. You may need to update the product to see these changes.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

    Thank you,
    Kuang

No, I have returned the product.

  • Thanks JUJU and Mark. That saves me the hassle of buyting and having to unistall and return the products.

I dunno, guys. I just installed them myself (had my eye on them for a while, price was good), and they work just dandy. Of course, I have disabled most morphs with Turbo Loader, and I have not enabled the G8 expressions, as is discussed elsewhere, so there must be a conflict.

The morph files are rather simply named, "01.dsf", "02.dsf", etc. I checked for others of the same name, and sure enough (on my system), Drutherson 8 Expressive has the same naming convention. They had previously been disabled, but once enabled with TL, there were crossovers. Drutherson 8 uses a mix of custom morphs that sometimes depend on the G8 Base Expressions, so they are sort ot active. Applying the Drutherson expressions activates (in many cases) the G8.1M Big Expressive morphs with the same name, seen in the Parameter tab selecting "Currently Used", which shows two expressions active.

On the female side, I also found one product, Pirate Expressive, that conflicts with G8.1F Big Expressive morph names, again simply named "01.dsf", 02.dsf", etc., with the same mix of expressions being used when applying the recently enabled Pirate Expressive. Applying the Big Expressive seems to be okay by itself, like with the male version.

I don't know if it is a question of last one installed wins, or first, or last loaded, or what, but this PA needs to up their naming game. All other PAs include some product name or acronym in the filename for the morph or alias, or whatever counts, to keep them unique.

ETA: Looking a little closer, it isn't so much the filename, but the URL defined inside. The two conflicting files both set an internal URL of "#01" with "Genesis 8 Female" and the parent. One actually uses Genesis 8_1 Female, but G8.1F is a G8F with a few alterations, when "#01" is referenced, which one gets the call? I have a headache...
