I went to my product Library and downloaded Daz Studio Pro Beta which consisted of 2 small files which are not a Beta version of Daz but in fact simply Beta Add Ins to DS Pro 4.7.
There is absolutely no clue as to the how or why and on messing around with the various additions to no avail maybe there is someone out there how could just maybe......give me a clue

You need to select Show Hidden Files AND make sure that 'Public' is selected in your Filters to see the 4.8 Pro Beta download.
I'm really annoyed with Daz, I don't use Download Manager because I have a Multi-Drive, Multi Partiton System and I can Dowload and Install manualy by the time I've directed Download Manager to the appropriate location. It does not see what I have already installed because my Runtime is properly organised into categories where as Download manger just throws them in the generic folders.
My annoyance is becaue the main Daz Studio Beta files do not show up in my Product Library a they should..
thank you anyway as I have got Download Manager re-installed and set it just for these files to where I want them.
DS betas are only available through DIM because they need to be installed with special parameters (internal folders, key used for preferences, ...) so that they don't interfere with the production build installed on your system.
Actually, they shouldn't. DAZ Studio 4.8 is not a product, since DAZ Studio 4.8 is Beta software that hasn't been released yet. It is available for download, true, but that is different from being released as a finished product, which it is not. The reason why it has been made available is for testing purposes so bugs or issues can be identified and corrected prior to releasing it. Anyone downloading and installing it should understand this and not expect the Beta to be finished. If it were, it wouldn't be a Beta. For everyday use, DAZ naturally expects everyone to be using DAZ Studio 4.7, or an earlier release, and only installing 4.8 temporarily for testing purposes.
I realize that many users are excited by the prospect of Iray, but no one should succumb to the temptation to treat the Beta as a replacement for 4.7. Not yet.
