DAZ/Tafi doubling size of staff, opening second office in Vancouver

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but I came across this on the AP PR newswire, dated March 31, info duplicated on PRNewswireTafi .  That said, note the disclaimer "Press release content from PR Newswire. The AP news staff was not involved in its creation" and the info is duplicated on PR Newswire so... make of it what you will

After reading that and the 3 letter word commodity  emphasis, I think I better stop trying to justify buying any more content and pull my purse strings tight.

Good, maybe now they'll be big enough to provide the content and support that we want and fool around with the NFT nonsense that we don't at the same time.

so much revenue to not have any revenue to update their software! frown

I didn't see any mention of revenue in that press release. Where was that?

It doesn't.  It says "surging growth," however "surging" may be interpreted.  The part I found amusing was that a Utah organization is giving an award in one breath while a significant portion of the company is being tranferred out of state and out of country to Vancouver in another.

in my opinion, that is the writing on the wall as far as the direction of DAZ and Tafi. If they are indeed making so much revenue, all of our bitching about sales and pricing is going on deaf ears. Well, all things must pass, and I believe I'll be taking my copper tokens elsewhere.

Growth is not the same thing as revenue.  Really, the only thing that one can take from all the wordsmithing for sure is that part of DAZ/Tafi will now be in Canada and there will be at least some kind of increase in staffing.

I think Tafi has had a presence in Vancouver since last summer. https://maketafi.com/blog/32/news/tafi-opens-new-vancouver-office

It’s a paid press release. Anything can be written and most likely has no fact check. It’s pretty much an ad disguised as a legitl article.

Market leader in NFT strategy? Aren't NFT's more and more turning into a big joke as people realize how dumb they are? Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

The press release might be paid but the award is legit... we used to get press releases from companies all the time when I worked in publishing. Its standard practice. Daz is not transferring out of the state. They are expanding and opening more offices.

Do you mean I can pay a news outlet to say awesome things about me, my leadership style and my almost visionary sense of the present, past, and future combined?

    Tell me more!

The news outlet decide if they want to run the story... so what is your leadership style? Your vision of the present, past and future :) Convince me that I want to publish something about you.

Or.... you can actually just win the CEO of the year award - that works too.

Well, DAZ seems to be doing well... which is great, I think!

I'm just a hobbyist but I'm invested in this company, in the sense that I love using their product and have spent a lot of money here. So of course I want DAZ to keep doing well!

I have some low-key worries - I hope they won't neglect us renderers in favour of NFTs, and I hope they are prepared in case that bubble popps - but I guess I'll cross (or burn) that bridge when we get there.

You can win all the awards in the world, if you're prioritizing your profit over the environment that we all depend on, I'm not impressed.

Regardless of the humor, which I find funny, I hope it never comes to pass.

    Cheers!
