How do you get Victoria 8.1 Tear to actually look like the promo Tear image?

This is the new tear that comes with 8.1

How do you actually get it to look like that?  In my renders, the tear just makes that area darker, there's no wetness effect like in the above image.

If you take a look at the reflection in the eyeball , you see a daytime outdoor sky,  try a high quality HDRI with a daytime sky.

The tear material was, I believe, updated for Daz Studio 4.20.0.2 to take account of the changes in the way ThinFilm behaved - are you using matched materials and application (4.20.0.2 with the updated Starter essentials, or an older DS with unupdated Starter Essentials)?

No where is caustics mentioned in this link: https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-1, where the promo image exists.

    I updated to 4.20.0.2.

    Then I updated to 4.20.0.11.

    I'm now using 4.20.0.11.

I updated the Genesis 8 Female Starter Essentials, its package date shows 2/18/2022. I sorted DIM list by latest installed, and it's near the top of my list. I also updated the Genesis 8 Male starter essentials in the same way.  So both of these starter essentials are updated.

4.20.0.11 with the updated Starter Essentials. I loaded Victoria 8.1 HD, made sure her tear was visible, then rendered, but the tear looks broken. I tried applying the V8.1 tear mat, but still the same result. It doesn't look like a nice wet effect.

If anyone can figure out how to get the tear to look like it's actually a wet watery effect, please let me know.  Is it circumstanstial and only works outdoors?

I'm using an HDRI of a studio lit room. I'll try daytime, but IMO, it should work in both settings.

The way it looks now, it's just too dark and non-existent. It looks broken.

I have been watching this thread and I thought I would finally make a comment. I think what you are seeing in the promo image are three things: 1) the 8.1 tear which is pretty cool, 2) an HDRI that has a good bright single point of light to make good refraction and good reflections, and finally, 3) what is known as an "eye light" i.e. a light that is designed to produce glints in the eye.  The artist who made the promo also chose a striking angle which highlights the refraction.  I decided to render Sera (a Mousso character https://www.daz3d.com/sera-hd-for-genesis-81-female since i rarely render her) and used one of the Colm Jackson Pro-Studio HDR's since they are nice light probes plus an eyelight (https://www.daz3d.com/eye-twinkles-for-genesis-8).  In the first image, I used a glancing light to produce a natural reflection where the tear and the cornea are barely resolvable as different refractive objects.  In the second, I used the twinkle product to create moist looking reflections.
