Can't unhide figures

I'm not sure what happened, but I'm unable to unhide certain figures in my scene. Pressing the eye icon does nothing on these objects and I don't have a clue what caused it. It has happened to me before and reloading the scene has fixed it before, but now it does nothing, not even merging the scene.

    How about selecting it and then using the Visible button in the parameters pane - or possibly Visible in preview, you may find it is visible when you render.

    1. Have you by chance locked the figure? (Meaning, when you hit the eye icon, does it open?)
    2. If it does, then you can open up the bones en ensure that all of them aren't hidden.
