Video Compression Dialog Box Not Responding
Hi guys, good day.
Yesterday I rendered an AVI with DAZ for 2.5 hour. I left the computer to work, and 3 hours later I went back. As expected, the video compression dialog box appeared and waited for me to make a decision and press OK. I chose the compression and press OK, but nothing happen. When I clicked the OK button, the button was animated, but dialog box was still there. I pressed OK several times nothing happened. I pressed Cancel nothing happened either. The scroll down menu was still working though. DAZ was stuck there for 30 minutes until I decided to "end process" DAZ through task manager.
I restarted DAZ, re-render the whole thing, but this time I went back to my computer before 2.5 hour is up. When the video compression dialog box appeared, I chose the compression, hit OK, and it responded. The AVI file was created as it should. It seems the dialog box doesn't like to wait and wants me to make decision right at that moment.
I have some other 5 / 7-hour AVI renders to make, and looks like I can't leave it working while I go to sleep at night like a batch render. Any solution that can help me prevent potential sleep deprivation is appreciated.

It is strongly recommended to render to an image sequence, then turn that into an aniamtion in a dedicated video editor. This kind of situation is just oen reason.
However, if this is something that was more than a one-off glitch please do report it as a possible bug, the facility to render direct to a movie file is therte and should work https://www.daz3d.com/help
Thanks Richard. I've read from previous discussions about using other video editor to create a video from image sequence, but I thought DAZ's AVI movie render result is quite good. I'm satisfied at least for my project. It's just that dialog box is the problem. But I'll tell DAZ about this bug.
if it gets stuck again grab the temporary images from application data roaming or wherever they are now stored before closing
(I haven't rendered a video file in years so don't actually know the location)
