Looking for missing textures - ancient M3 Hand Axes freebie

I've been trawling through the older items in my content, looking for still-good stuff suitable to convert into full D|S-type files. Last night I came across the old M3 Hand Axes from the no longer available freebie archive. it's still a very nice mesh, but there aren't any textures. I even dug out the old installer, unpacked it, and there aren't any textures there either.
I'm sure I remember using these items way back when, and the textures worked. I've uninstalled a lot of M3-vintage stuff since then, though, and from the readme there seems to be a connection with something called M3 Barbarian that I can't find in the store; maybe it's been vaulted. Anyone else remember this?

Thank you for purchasing the Warlords Collection: Michael 3.0 Barbarian. Here's your first free gift!
In "!M3_Barbarian_MAT" of your Poses Library and "!M3_Barbarian" of your Props library you will find new icons for loading the product.
This Free Product Contains MAT Poses for owners of the Animal Instinct Package as well as for the Michael 3.0 Barbarian Package. to use those MAT files, you must own Animal Instincts, as the textures are included in that package.
Standard Props are supplied with a P4 and ProPack version, whereas Smart Props that preload onto a bodypart on your figure must first be applied to a figure and then have their associated bumpmaps applied through the supplied MAT Poses in "!M3_Barbarian_MAT".
This product uses MAT Pose files for changing the Material Settings. In all cases, "P4" will refer to Poser 4 and "PP" will refer to Pro Pak. Poser 4 users may need to convert several bump maps from .jpg files to use the P4 files properly. MAT Poses for ProPack and Poser4 have been clearly labeled accordingly. Please see http://www.daz3d.com/pages/faq/techtipsmain.html for more information on Your Poses library and MAT files.

I wonder if we needed this to make it work? https://www.daz3d.com/animal-instincts
although you could always use shaders instead. A basic wood or leather one for the handle, then some simple metal shader for the blade and bands, or a more complex one if you wanted scratches and whatnot.
No, that seems to be another texture set for the missing M3 Barbarian. Looking at the texture paths, I suspect the missing textures might actually be in the Barbarian set. Odd.
