Is there a way to get soft shadows on the new photometric lights?

Change light geometry (it's one of the parameters) to a shape and give it some size. The larger the light source, the softer the shadows end up.

ok. do I then use the built in size regulations like size and width or do i actually resize the lights?

Which makes me wonder whether there is a significant difference between a plane or cylinder with surface emission and a spotlight with a large area.

I think it would be more comparable to a point light with plane or cylinder geometry. Spotlight aims more, I think?

Dyret: I'd up it to 100 or 200 or so.
