Iray Ground Fog, Matte Fog issues

I've been trying to add ground fog and matte fog effects to some iray renders but, despite playing around with settings as advised elsewhere on this forum, I am finding that it literally has no effect on those renders.
I suspect that it may be because these features are not supported on my fairly elderly Nvidia graphics card (GeForce GTX 660), but can't find a definitive statement on the Nvidia website.
Grateful for any advice.

Those effects do not require a GPU. The image below is with CPU, the key is working with EV 0 and the settings provided.
You should, however, note that GTX 660 is Kepler based https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units#GeForce_600_series and as such is no longer supported: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log_4_14_0_10#4_12_2_31 (SM 3.x is Kepler -

You can find notes on Matter fog and Atmospheric Fog in the change log:

Richard, jag11, thank you for your responses, much appreciated.
I actually resolved this matter as follows. I discovered that if I loaded a new product (e.g. https://www.daz3d.com/old-london-alley), the Ground Fog and Matte Fog worked fine. But if I loaded an old scene that I had previously created based on that product, Ground Fog and Matte Fog had no effect. So I deleted Environment Options and Tonemapper Options from the scene, which were then automatically re-created and now Matte Fog and Ground Fog both worked and continue to work after I set the options I required (e.g. Environment Map). Not sure why this worked but it was an easy way to resolve this matter.
