How do I use multiple computers off the same database?

I have 3 computers that I use studio on (I'm the only user, I use 2 to build scenes on and one to render everything) and I would like to be able to only use one PC to manage the database for all 3 computers.  Essentially, I want to be able to install assets on my main PC and the other ones get access to the new item, including smart content.  I know it's possible, but when I try the other computer lose the CMS connection completely (I get the "A valid Postgre sql could not be found error").  How would I go about setting this up?  I currently have the drive daz is installed to on the main PC mapped out to the other drives and have Studio installed on those PCs and pointed to the main one through the mapped drive

If I recall correctly, you can't. Only one computer at a time can be active to the database.

One idea I haven't tried, don't know if anybody else has, putting all the content to a large external drive [kind that has its own power supply] put its output to one of those hubs, then from the hub run the 2 or 3 out cords to the different computers. BUT LORDYALMIGHTY STAY OFF THE INTERNET. If you get all those computers trying to call home to the one account there'll undoubtedly be some fits happening.

At least one user, Cypherfox, did do this but as I recall it was not simple. I don't think they posted instructions, and I certainly don't know how it would be done.

Well drat.  I've heard a few people say it can be done, but I'm not finding anyone saying how.  Maybe it's something that could be added to the list of future updates?  It would definitely make life easier

Were you trying to share the database via the filesystem? If so, this will not work, only the content files can be shared this way.

Only one instance of PostgreSQL can access the database files at a time. You need to access this one instance of PostgreSQL directly from the other instances of DS.

See my comment in this thread for how to set this up on Windows: Prevent DS from seeking SQL

I have loaded scenes off externals plugged into my other computer and had to add my non DAZ libray on it to DAZstudio over the network as it was missing some content, I was surprised it worked.

It was Poser and  old.daz not newer.duf content though
