How does one acquire Genesis 2? I thought it came with DAZ Studio.

Yes -you should have Genesis Starter Essentials, Genesis 2 Female Starter Essentials and Genesis 2 male Starter Essentials in your downloads (and Default Lights and Shaders).

Yes -you should have Genesis Starter Essentials, Genesis 2 Female Starter Essentials and Genesis 2 male Starter Essentials in your downloads (and Default Lights and Shaders).

Due to the size of the download it is split into the separate parts that Richard mentioned....there should also be several 'starter' scenes/bundles in your downloads, too. If not, go to the main store page sort by price (low-high) and add all the free content to your cart.

    Specifically:
    Slaying the Dragon
    Inside the Asylum
    SciFi Warrior
    Day at the Beach

There may be other free content as well, but those are the basics.

Where should this content show up in DS 4.7 Pro? How do I launch the content management to find out if I have downloaded it?

I have the files, but DAZ does not appear to know where it installed them to. Where are they supposed to be so I can put them there? Also how do I correct the Install Manager so it will put content where DAZ Studio can find it?

:c/users/public/documents/my daz 3d library is where the content was installed to.

If you are using the default locations in DIM make sure that you have the My DAZ 3D Library folder under DAZ Studio Formats in the Content Library; if you pointed DIM to a different location make sure that location is under DAZ Studio Formats. You will also want the location listed under Poser Formats, though that won't affect the Genesis figures. If the folder isn't there, right-click on the DAZ Studio Formats and select Add Base Directory, then select My DAZ 3D Library in the Public or Shared Documents folder (and do the same for Poser Formats).

Rob has written a script to sync DS with the Install manager directories http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config_import/start

How do I tell DS where My DAZ 3D Library is? Using the script linked above is waaaay above my pay grade. Where do I find this DIM?

DIM is the DAZ Install manager. As I said, open the Content Library pane, if the install folder isn't listed immediately under DAZ Studio Formats right-click on DAZ Studio Formats and choose Add Base Directory from the menu, then select the My DAZ 3D Library folder (or whatever folder you install to).
