Can the Transfer Utility be used to change out default UV's?

Can the Transfer Utility be used to switch out a new UV set as the new default UV set? If so how do I go about doing that please??

I don't want to add in another UV set, this was a necessary change to a piece of clothing I'm working on but found out that flat texturing in Photoshop is not working out so folks that want to support the piece will run into allot of issues in this area and want to change out the UV for an improved one.

Thanks so much

Richard

    I think you can do it by modifying the data file itself, but you first have to create the UV asset.

    Poking around in the Genesis /data folder, when I unpack the Genesis.dsf and open the file inside, there's this line:

    "default_uv_set" : "/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis/Base/UV Sets/DAZ 3D/Base/Victoria 4.dsf#Victoria 4",

    I believe if you edit that, save the file, and repack the file (save as zip and rename to dsf) it may work.

    Thanks. Yea, I've done that before and it does work but just hoping for a more "internal knowing" way of going about it.... IF that's how DAZ deals with it internally then I guess that's the way to go! :-)

    Oh, wait, I just found a drop down called Default in the UV parameters under surfaces. So I think you can create the UV asset and set it internally that way. You can change Default and Value, but it doesn't seem you can change Raw. Raw might be what the line in the data file is pointing to.

    I got a PM with a very helpful tutorial by our Josh. It's a bit confusing to me so I asked my long drawn out question! lol

    Forget the TU and watch that video from 2.40, that's the easy option as it will replace the mesh in the asset files with the new one, and at the same time will replace the old UVs for the new ones.

    This may be the same answer, but if you right-click on the scene tab, go to Edit, Update Base Geometry. As long as nothing in your geometry has changed other than the uvs, they will be updated with the new geometry.
