Bone Rotation Problems

OK, so I have had to hard reinstall my program and all my content. I go to start to make a pose set, and notice when I click on a body part, the dials dull out the twist, and there is a new bone for twist alone. Which is a sub bone of the arm. Instead of all rotations being on the same bone, what is up with this. It has increased the timing in creating pose sets, and not just by minutes but a good amount of timing having to go back and forth between bones in the scene tab. I can't just click the bone i need to twist in the viewport. 

Is there any way to fix this on my end? Before I was able to just click the bone from viewport and use all axis' in the parameter's tab.

Not quite sure why this is happening, and it is quite annoying to constantly go back and forth with bones in the scene tab to select them.

    Attached shows how it appears for me in 4.16. Did you install the updated default resources for 4.20?

    Yeah, I had to hard reinstall everything for like the past week and a half. So it is 4.20

    Will look into installing an older version of the Resources.

    Has nothing to do with Daz Studio itself or the default resources. This nonsense with splitting the Shoulder, Forearm and Thigh bones into Bend and Twist was introduced starting with the Genesis 3 generation and is part of their base figures. Previous generations don't have it.

    And actually this also seems really unnecessary. I can change the parameters with the sliders in Parameters pane in both Bend as well as Twist bone, the parameters in the other bone follows. For example: changing Twist in the Twist bone also changes this value in the Bend bone. There is nothing locked, I also can change Twist in the Bend bone and the parameter in the Twist bone follows. I have the latest versions of all Genesis Starter Essentials and of the Default Resources, Daz Studio 4.20.0.2. The behaviour was identically also in DS 4.15 and 4.12.

    The bend/twist split is common in rigs that use a single weightmap for each joint - the older Genesis figures used the TriAx system, with separate maps for each bend (among other things) but that made them less compatible.

    What you are doing when you set the proerpties on one bone and see the same properties and values on the other is benefiting from property cloning - something Daz added as a convenience for users precisely ebcause of the extra complexity introduced by the divided bones. It seem that, for some reason, the clones are not working for the OP.

    It worked fine in 4.16, when I had to reinstall everything, it changed. I am also noticing the facial expressions aren't there either. Esp for expressions, no eyes, mouth, nose ect options. I get the expressions, that are basic, but the once there options are gone, and bought packs show but do not do anything when dialed. I have both body and head morphs for G8, and they are installed via the in house installer from the Smart content menu. I even went and installed in DIM to see if that would change anything. It did not. So I have no clue as to the clones you are mentioning, if they are part of the body/head set for G8, But I have all my stuff installed, like over 3K items from the in house installer. Any idea where to find these clones you speak of or are they an option I need to check ect.

    There were no chnages in 4.20.x.x that would do this, unless all the problem parts had badly formatted paths (// instead of /) as far as I know. The expressions could be a pathign issue, or an updated to the Starter Essentials (there was one, to adjust the behaviour of the eye moisture layer in light of iray changes) butt hat would not explain the issue with bone aliases. It may be worth posting you log just after loading the base figure.

    Those just mean there are adjustment morphs linked to the character, and since you don't have the character there uis nothing fro them to do.

    I got it to load like it was before. I had to completely uninstall and delete everything and put it on a new external drive. Thanks for the help. Now 400 gigs of content over a really slow connection. See yall in 2 weeks.
