Help with poke-through

I applied the dForce Sweater Vest Style Outfit for Genesis 8 Male(s) to the Genesis 8 male character and it looked great, or so I though, but when I rendered it, there was poke through (as shown in attached image). First, I am surprised that it occurs as the pose is nothing special, right out of the box. What are some simple ways of solving this? I do not want to scale the sweater if I do not have to.

sometimes you may need to scale a item to make it fit but in other instances you can

-see if there is a specific morph on the body or the item that adjusts the item.
Sometimes customized figures can have strange results with wearable items.

-make the body part underneath invisible, actually this is a good practice for speeding up renders and cutting down on resources.

-check to see if a bump or displacement map is set too high/low that it causes the poke through

-use a deformer to pull the item

    On the sweater,

    is ENABLE SMOOTHING On ?

    and is INTERACTIVE UPDATE On?

You could try adding a PUSH MODIFIER.

@rnollman To elaborate on what @surreal said about using smoothing to eliminate poke-thru...

    1. Select your G8M figure in scene tab
    2. Select G8M in Parameters tab
    3. Go to Mesh Smoothing -or- Search for: Iterations
    4. Click (+) to slowly adjust slider for both Smoothing Iterations and Collision Iterations (collision is more important) until poke-through is gone.

NOTE: If it doesn't have a Smoothing Modifier you can add one via: Edit-->Figure-->Geometry-->Add Smoothing Modifier (Collision Item = Character)

That is a strange issue since it seems it's not the figure to poke through the outfit, but it's the outfit layers. In this case the shirt pokes through the vest. If it's dforce you may try increasing the collision quality.

Of course if you didn't simulate at all and the vest is pure dforce, that is, doesn't get adjuster morphs, then that's why you get the poke.

Do you have a smoothing modifier active on the vest, and is that modifier set to collide with the figure?
If yes, try setting the shirt as collision item. Otherwise the smoothing modifier moves the vest closer to the figure's body, making it smaller and causing poke-through.
