Creating Fur With Strand Based Hair

Hey guys,

After trying countless ways to make Look At My Hair animate properly and failing, I am hoping I will be able to use strand based hair to achieve my goals. The main issue I'm facing right now is being able to apply the texture to the hairs. See attached.

Any help with this will be greatly appriciated.
