Error "Could not resolve: /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Femaledef/Genesis8Female.dsf"

I got this annoying error message whenever I loaded G8F character. "Could not resolve: /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Femaledef/Genesis8Female.dsf"

Of course, there is no directory named "Femaledef" in /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8. I think it's misspelled somewhere. But I couldn't find the offending package/morph/whatever. I tried to find some clues in Log in vain. Do you have any idea?

Presumably an add-on of some kind, the default does not do that. Can you recall which items you installed just before the issue started?

Basically you have a morph DSF file with a bad pathway written inside the file.

To find the problem file check your log for three errors "Could not find parent for modifier", "Failed to prepare modifier" and "Failed to create modifier". All three should have the same asset ID at the end of the error, which should help find the problem file.

Once you know what file it is you have a choice, uninstall the product and complain loadly to who ever made it, or edit the file yourself (line 18, starts with Parent).

My log file didn't have any of the three errors you mentioned. For now, I just created the dumb folder and put the dsf file in the folder to prevent the error message. I know it's not an ideal solution but it did the job.

I'm using DS4.15, if you are using a newer version then those errors may have been altered, or worse hidden from the log.

What you have done has stopped the missing file warnings, and the product should now work. However you still have a product with a poorly done "parent" issue, that file needs to be found and either the product removed or fixed.

I couldn't find any other error in the log file of my DAZ 4.20. But I found the offending package by tracking what I installed recently. It was one of those free morph packages. After looking into those files and replacing that wrong string in every file, The error message was no more without the dummy folder. Thanks for your help and advice!
