The amazing Ebony by HID3D

Today, I was very pleasantly surprised by a new figure, the amazing Ebony by HID3D, measuring only 157 cm, which for me is a quite welcome, yet rare sight, as many new female figures resemble telegraph poles, or look like mid-late teens not proper adults to me.

I want to thank HID3D for creating Ebony.heart

Gallery link with a list of the products used.

Did anyone else get her? Would you perhaps like to show your renders starring her?

You do realise you alter the height of characters very easily?

Leg length, even a little scale sometimes.

Well, changing the proportions or even scale could make the figure look a bit different than idented, couldn't it?

Also, won't parented props change size accordingly too?

Well it's nice that this model already comes with said small proportions without having to alter

  • To be honest, I don't really care how tall she is, what I did notice is her exquisite face. Would love to get her, but my wallet is empty.

    Indeed.

By the way, I don't know if it is just my browser acting funny, but the link in your signature does not seem to lead to your gallery, rather to the Daz gallery itself. Perhaps you left the no longer valid old gallery link there, from before the gallery revamp?

Thanks. I'll check the link. Though I haven't posted in my gallery in some time
  • It's great to see this vendor offering figures on the Daz site now.  I have several of their Japanese characters from the Rendo site, and they range from 4'11" to 5'6" tall and are all quite wonderful.  It's great to have a range of heights to female characters without having to fiddle with dimensions and/or morphs individually, and also not have all the females be 5'10"-6'0" as defaults (which is too tall IMO).  Hope they continue to offer new figures on both sites.

  • Err. I live in a household where my wife and daughters are 5'11", 6'1" and 5'10" respectively. So, in my case an average 5'10"-6'0" feels normal.

Seems to be a strange texture issue above her upper lip, like a band of brighter redder skin?

I've found scaling is the easiest.  Anything parented or fit to the figure will adjust scale.  Always keep in mind it's scaled, many poses will reset the scale.

I'm not sure the intention is really all the women are abnormally tall, seems that in the Daz sphere they just never really bothered to scale women to appropriate size.

So, if I give a "normal" tall figure a weapon prop, it will scale up, and if I use another such figure, scaled down in height (or rather size), the same prop used on this second figure will be smaller after scaling down, right?

It's not just Daz, it happens in real life as well. I'm 5'6" and I have to buy pants with a "short" designated inseam (don't get me started on how womens pants don't have standardized sizing like mens). 5'6" is completely average for women in the US...but if I buy pants with an "average" inseam, I will trip over the legs. Clothing makers in the US seem to assume that all women are either 5'10 or wear 6" heels as a norm...both of which are not accurate.

Thanks, @watchdog79, I read the details but didn't check anything else. Next time I'll be more thorough. I have that hair, and it looked more fibre mesh last time I used it.

ETA: Oh, it might be the Colorwerks Extreme (also listed in Items Used).

Happy to help, and yes, I think the looks come from the Colorwerks too.

Yes, props and clothes change to accommodate adjustments to morphs and any scaling. They wouldn't fit if the weren't changed.

The character you are admiring is a morph of G8/8.1, so has either been scaled, morphed or both.

I'm suggesting you can do the same to other characters, something I do myself quite often. Leg length is an easy one, and my understanding is that peoples height differences (adults) are largely due to changes in leg length.

You just described my ex wife to a tee, 5'10 and wears heels often. Funny thing is she is always complaining about finding clothing that fits her because of her height. You two should compare notes, LOL

There's two G8F characters I use that come with scaling morphs.

The first is Aurore by Kayleyss, she can shrink to be roughly 5'4". https://www.daz3d.com/aurore-for-genesis-3-and-8-female

The second is Osuine by Sangriart (yes, the very same character whose skin is believed to be used for the joelegecko promo girl), I think she scales to 5'2".

Right? Because 5'6 shouldn't be called short at all.  I'm 5'2 and I have to look for petite.  But I'm a little chunky now so I have to find plus-size petite. (goodluck) If I find jeans that fit, I try to get many pairs.
