American style road kit?

Hey everyone,

Anyone know of a good road kit that would fit well in the modern day USA?  Something you'd see in Los Angeles or any other big city. Not being an American, I'm not sure if the roads are exactly the same in every part of the country (I guess not as it's a huge place?)

I have a good few sets with roads in them, but they're usually one long section that can't be easily pulled out of a scene. Ideally I'd love some kind of kit to build a small neighbourhood scene.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated :)

Check DreamlandModels at Renderosity They have some layouts with roads such as this one:

Thanks, I'll check it out!  Hopefully it'll be modular :)

I think you can take any road and just add a lot of potholes and dead animals to make it a United States road. And if you want it to be a Kansas City road, add a large number of orange construction cones and road blocks with no actual construction workers in sight.

That's funny!  It actually happens like that in Toronto too as far as the cones go.  They are pretty good on dealing with the roadkill though.

Actually, no.  Depends first of all on what side of the road folks drive on, as then placement and orientation of signs, road markings, etc., are reversed.  And yes, not only are there are sets that have the drivers on the left, just as there are a surprising number that use various electrical plugs, and different varieties of other fixtures that are inconsistant with their supposed location.  It's an easy thing to miss, which is why all the major roads in Australia have multiple "reminder" signs everywhere helpfully telling tourists which side of the road they're supposed to be on.

If you want urban roads, search for "street" in the store. Rendo too. Non-urban scenes tend to be labeled "road" where urban ones are called streets. Plenty to choose from.
