High-tech / Sci-fi swords that look like functional swords
There are a lot high-tech / sci-fi swords in the store, but most of them seem to be either "lightsabre" type weapons, or are bulky/oversized (e.g. dForce Evil Night Walker for Genesis 8 Males ), or have weird angles or gaps in the blade that would likely get them caught on something and make them a pain to clean, or look more like some sort of industrial cutting tool than an actual sword.
I'm looking for something that look more like an actual sword (and could presumably be used like one even if it wasn't turned on) but at the same time looks high-tech/sci-fi (e.g. power switches, glow effects that look technological rather than magical, etc).
I've found a couple of high-tech samurai packs that include swords of the sort I'm interested in, but I'm wondering if there any more like that (ideally without having to buy an expensive costume to get it, and preferably with more choice of weapon styles than just katanas).

Kitbash.
Take the handle of a 'lazer sword' and put it in place of the handle of a katana.
Slap some greebles on it.
If you're looking for ready made, i like the "cyber blades & gadgets" collection from geomantics over on renderosity.
I have always loved these: https://www.daz3d.com/adventurer-s-toy-box-weapons-edition-genesis-8-female-and-male The blade second from the left has a mat that gives it a plasma edge for example:
That's the only one I have in my collection that seems to be close to what you are askin.

Here is one of the blades from the adventurer toolkit:
Ah, thanks. The Adventurer's Toybox sword looks like it could be suitible. (I'd seen that product before, but the promo pics don't do the sword justice. And having taken a second look, some of the other items could be useful to me too). The Renderosity ones could do too. The Turbosquid one looks really cool, and not cool enoug to justify $30, plus its got the sort of gappy blade I'm not keen on.
I might see what I can do with kitbashing first though.
