Suggestions for straw-like hair...?

I'm doing a picture for the Scaredrow (DC Comics) and need some hair that can double as straw. I don't mind creating a texture for it. I just can't find any hair with a good mesh that can double for straw. Any suggestions?

Can parent the hair to the scarecrow chacters head, and scale it to fit.
Autofit would most likely wouldn't work well.
Then you just need a shader to apply to the hair for the grass/hay/straw look.
A light colored wood shader might work.
