Please put your question in the post body and the title - Daz 3D Forums
Are you trying to pin them, with the Universal tool or Active Pose tool? Pinning is not robust - it's easy to get the pinned item to move, rather than have the pin hold and the pose adjustment stop.
Pin will not help you at all in animation, it is for posing only. Unless you pin every single frame.
What you need is ik chains, see my signature for a discussion.
As Richard indicates "feet sliding" is not a single issue subject.
ik-chains would be great, however it is not in itself a total solution. Just as mCasuals PinMeDown script is not a total solution.
A tip: do all dForce simulations before applying PinMeDown. PinMeDown may bring to light artefacts in the animation, e.g. large/sharp node transition changes not necesssarily visible to the viewer but significant enough to cause dForce issues.
I like the Walk-It plugin, make a path and the figure walks on it.

Hi so what can I do!
I'd really recommend giving Cascadeur a try.
Looks interesting, tks:)
Follow the different advices you got here and see what works best for you. I'd go with mine of course.
use a different software to DAZ studio to render
D|S is a great exporter of DAZ Content, Unreal Engine is free and so is Blender
Foot sliding is not an issue we should still be talking about in 2022. But we still are because DAZ animation tools are decades behind the state of the art.
Instead of trying to get DS to do something that it just doesn't do, I think you'll get farther by mastering the process of getting a DS armature/skin into some other competent animation software (e.g. Maya, Blender) and back. If you are concerned with foot sliding, then you are looking for a certain level of quality that DS is not going to give you without a lot of tedious work. Work that other packages simply do for you, if you learn how to utilize them.
To understand how bad DAZ Studio is at animation, you only have to use a high quality control rig for about 5 seconds. Maya's HIK is the State of the Art; Blender's Auto Rig Pro or Rigify together with the Animation Layers plugin ain't bad either.
Anyone who says otherwise should immediately be asked what their experience with the above tools is, and you should at least wait politely before they say they've never used any of them.
It is not really criticism to say that DAZ Studio is probably the best character creation platform amateurs are likely to have access to, but an animation platform it is decidedly not. Just use DAZ for what it is very good at, and seek other functionality you need elsewhere.
indeed it is good plugin good for simple walk cycles lots of options for the type walk style as well
This just my 2 cents for what its worth when it comes to animating in daz studio only .
sometimes you can resolve some feet slippish issues if you use the joint editor & move the L/R hips (y) rotation to the ground level to make the legs movments stay even during the cycle. and 3d Universe has a "Body to hip" to tool for this exact reason https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-animation-tools--set-1 This trick works better for hand keyframed or preloaded animated presets or animated pose set animation, than it does on aniblocks which you would have to bake aniblock animation into the animate2 timeline first and then move over to the daz timeline and make your hip adjustments according to your animation requirements.
IK-chains solutions do work great for walk cycles . you need to make primitives for each place your foot is to step and during the motion cycle you can lock and unlock the IK-chain link for each primitive as the foot touch's that spot on the timeline. this way you can keep the feet in place during the motion cycle, its a very time consuming set up and works best for un-even terrain like stairs and hills etc. though i use it a lot for girlie pole dancer animation. IK-chains really shine when used for hand to object contact points in the animation cycle, for walk style motions. IMO ik-chains takes longer to set up that its worth
there is really is no easy way in daz to stop foot slips, it is a flaw that has existed since the the beginning of daz it has something do with the FK part of the bone stucture i read some where. . Maybe in the future daz will release a hard-surface-pinning solution for feet to ground pinning like the higher end 3d software does like unity or Maya . but for now the best you can do is use work around to solve the foot skating issue
Another good trick is to try to keep your camera POV showing above the knees . most action shots do not require the whole body to show or the feet unless your doing a close up for a tap dancing scene or something.
that is a good find, it looks interesting I downloaded the free version to see how it works. It maybe worth investing the $150 for the pro version if works good
thanks for sharing the link
I've done a few animations with it, having never really done animation before:
I may put together a tutorial on it to help get users get started, because, despite my inexperience with animation, I have been dubbed the resident expert on the program.
Very Nice @Gordig
You may want to give this script a go, it's exactly what you're looking for!
Yes great script I use it all the time.
I did the animation demo below using limbstik it is a fantastic script for speeding up work for feet or hand to obj contact points. but imo it takes to long setting up perimeter for each foot locations, so it makes it not worth using for walk cycles to fix foot slips it works the same as if you were using a IK-chain solution. I not saying it would not work, I am saying it would take longer than if you just did the walk cycle by hand.
Your work is exemplary, and I can take your word about DS animation to the bank!
Hi please can someone help mw i cant stop the foot sliding and its very frustrating! please can someone help me with this i dont know how to use the i chains !
Have you tried any of the suggestions above?
i did and still no use !
This is explained pretty good in the video:
To be understood is that the IK kenetics in D/S, to paraphrase what many have said, needs some improving. It is very helpful to discover and make use of the available [and they are affordable] scripts or plugins.
Also with using Walk-it, foot skating isn't an issue. There is a free .pdf file on their page to download.
For the LimbStick, it's important to click the figure part first, then the item that is or isn't animated. For example on the bicycle, the only thing being animated is the bicycle. The figure is attached to the bicycle and thusly the bike animates the person. You can experiment with the concept. It's been a little since I tried this but I recall making a little floor piece for each foot, then animated those floor pieces. So when the floor for one foot was moved, only that foot moved. The other one stayed put.
.................
Was watching the video for the PoseIt Plugin, anybody tried that one? It looks to have a man walking without foot slipping. On the same page as the Walk-It plugin. Update: PoseIt works in D/S4.16 so bought it. Has a foot lock feature, seems to be for making poses using 2 preset poses for starters. Interesting plugin.
Thanks so much Catherine ! i will give this a try and ty for all your help everyone! i really appreciate it!
