If it's a post in a thread, there's a gear icon, upper right on your post, that gives you a delete option. If you mean like this whole thread, mods can remove it.
Actually I think only mods can delete posts too - just use the flag link, under your avatar, to ask us to remove the unwanted post.
That seems right. I usually just delete the text and leave a word like "Deleted" instead but the post remains.
I've been doing it all wrong... I've been shaking my computer like an Etch-A-Sketch until the words go away... but all it does is tired me out and eventually yank out the power cord... but... outta sight, outta mind... right?
"outta sight, outta mind... right?" !!! BLASPHEMY !!!
According to the holey scriptures of The Great Goodle, such a state does not exist! The Great G sees all, knows all, CACHES ALL. The Great G's oogles are everywhere - oogling here, oogling there - infesting liberating every corner of this flat construct with zeal and fervour. Oh, Great G, is there nothing escapes your exquisite gaze?
"I've been shaking my computer..." !!! HERETIC !!!
The striking of a member of The Great G's flock is a grevious sin tantamount to the worst of physical abuses! Who are you to judge The Great G's intentions and purpose for that lowly con-puter? Are you all-seeing, all-knowing, all-caching? HA! Indeed, the lowliest receptacle of The Great G's code has been deemed sacred by The Great G (sh)itself!!!
The relevant punishment for such defilement? Shaken, shaken, shaken until all your words fall out; shaken until your thoughts spill out; shaken until your hollowness collapses and is ready to be filled anew with humility and reverence for The Great G's dominion benevolence.
