If it's a post in a thread, there's a gear icon, upper right on your post, that gives you a delete option. If you mean like this whole thread, mods can remove it.
Actually I think only mods can delete posts too - just use the flag link, under your avatar, to ask us to remove the unwanted post.
That seems right. I usually just delete the text and leave a word like "Deleted" instead but the post remains.
I've been doing it all wrong... I've been shaking my computer like an Etch-A-Sketch until the words go away... but all it does is tired me out and eventually yank out the power cord... but... outta sight, outta mind... right?

The relevant punishment for such defilement? Shaken, shaken, shaken until all your words fall out; shaken until your thoughts spill out; shaken until your hollowness collapses and is ready to be filled anew with humility and reverence for The Great G's dominion benevolence.
