Just how many, what do you call them, mods? Props, scenes, materials stuff like that. Just how many are there in total so far for Daz Studios?

Well it's not so easily quantifiable, as DS can import lots of different formats, basically any model/mesh in obj format can be imported or any jpg can be used as a texture map.
As far what is created and setup for use specifically in DS you may be looking at more than tens of thousands of products across the internet. DS has been around for around ten years since its first release and has hordes of content creators for both free and paid content.
In a bit over 4 yrs, I have almost 50 freebie items and have a couple dozen more in various stages of completion. And I'm one of hundreds or thousands who make them.
Then you have some long term folks in the store here, who literally have hundreds of items in their catalog.
I don't think you can really take an accurate count, because not only do you have everything specifically Studio labeled, but a huge chunk of Poser labeled items are usable in Studio...and then there's the huge catalog of items that were once available, but for one reason or another are no longer available, but many folks still have.
I guess I am curious, too, since I clicked on this thread even though the title gives no indication as to what it's about. ☺
Hundreds of thousands? It's not uncommon for folks to have content folders with tens of terabytes of stuff. Compiling a list of all the content available would be a herculean task since there are sooo many people making stuff and have been for over a decade now. Don't forget that Daz3D can open Poser formatted content too.
Currently there are 16,508 items in the store... but many older Daz Original products have been retired from the catalog, and other vendors have also pulled some of their older products or in some cases all their products over the years, so the actual number of items released by Daz is somewhere around 22,000 ;)
Thanks for putting an actual number to my guesstimate. I'm sure that adding RDNA, Renderotica, ShareCG, Content Paradise, all the now closed sites and the pile of free stuff floating around would probably push the total over 100,000 items.
There are probably 100,000 models at Turbosquid alone ;)
Greetings
And that's just products. If you're actually asking about different individual props, scenes, and materials, each product has ~2-50 of them, I'd guess. The most minimal reasonable product is a prop object, and a texture/material setting for it, which would be two, by that basis.
Some products have 25+ props, and materials for all of them.

And then there's all the ones that have more than one material set (whether it's Poser, Luxrender, UberSurface and now Iray).
So it's possible that one store item could have 25 models and 50 materials (1 for each item, in two different formats).
And then there are things like Look At My Hair and Garibaldi that can literally make thousands of new items, by just changing a few settings. Or the Skin Builder sets...probably thousands of combos...
