Hi Every one

I was wondering Is it possible to do a custom installation for daz 4.7. I mean when you install it on a computer instead of loading every thing that comes with the software is it possible to only load the modules that you really use the most? I guess what I am saying is can you do a bare bone install? I would like to do this for my 11 year old grandson. But I don't want him to be over whelm by every thing that the full setup has . Is there a way of doing this at all?

Thanks

Sue

The only thing that I can think of, is do not enter the Pro version Serial Number, and then you will be left with DAZ Studio Standard version.

If you are referring to the Content, that is a separate install from the main program.

If I don't type in the serial numbers will he be able to still save any thing he makes from it? Thanks for the reply.

Yes, it just works the same way as the full Pro version, except for the plugins.

DAZ 3D give away the Pro version for free now with all the extras, but otherwise, the Standard versin is the same.

You might also look at having him use the Full Service (Beta) layout, from Window>Workspace>Select layout.... But be aware that that will limit him to using Smart Content only, as far as I recall.

I see I just tried it But at least he can use the primitive maker to create his own content those. So that's kind of nice for him

Nope I was wrong on that you cant use the primitive software did a double check on that. Any way I can get that to work while he is in that lay out ?

I don't know - the layout deliberately hides a lot of the more complex features, and I don't think there's a way to selectively turn them back on.

Another option would be, after installation and serial number, going into Help>About Installed Plug-ins and selectively disabling features. However, you couldn't stop him from reactivating the blocked features once he found his way to the area - and I would want to do some testing to make sure there weren't any unexpected consequences for the things that were left active.

I think the 3d bridge lay out would be better . It seems like its much cleaner

Thanks Richard and every one else for the help
