Did 4.20 changed the render setting?

I just updated DAZ from 4.18 to 4.20. And I found that the render result of Iray is darker than before in the same scene with the same render setting.

I know how to get a similar result but I just want to know what changed that led to this result?

Thank you!

What kind of light did you use in your scene? The way emissive surfaces work has changed in 4.20, so if you use ghost lights for example it will give you different results.

Oh I think that's the reason! I'm using the ghost lights in my scene. Do you know how the emissive surfaces changed?

Presumably you mean 4.16.x.x, there was no 4.18.x.x

For emissiive surfaces the luminosity is now multiplied by the opacity - so for Ghost Lights that greatly reduces it overall, while for many flame props (which are usually a plane with an opacity map) it completely cuts out the contribution of the invisible portion.

I see. I think this means that ghost light is not as useful as before? I found that the effect is very weird in new version...

And I loved to use Ghost Light because it's shadow is not very obvious compared to the point light. So is there a replace of Ghost Light in the 4.20 version?

I just fixed it. Thank you!

If you just want a large surface use a spot or point and give it a shape (via Parameters) such as a square of the same size as the ghost plane. The main drawback is that the light-source will show in reflections, though you can hide the emitter from direct rays
