I really really want him, but unfortunately I can't use dForce hair as I export. I hope AM considers an LAMH preset, particularly since the hair so short.
Then again maybe this is a good figure to try & make my own...
What do you export to? I know C4D can import dForce hair as splines, and I imagine other programs can as well.
And yes, this is super cute, and makes it apparent that I didn't know the difference between a weasel and a badger.
Yeah, I finally caved, but without 3DL materials, i don't know that i'll ever actually use it. Maybe without fur at a distance after converting the matts.
Incredibly cute and a must buy for me. It's a great pity Chohole is no longer with us, she would have loved this.
Cheers,
Alex.
P.S. How about a Red Panda next?
I used to think Stoats/weasels were all cute and cuddly till i saw this video of them taking down rabbits 4 times their size. Vicious little critters
Out of Daz using FBX & into Lightwave. I can then transfer weight maps to the fur, making the posable with fur, but no morphs. At least yet.
dForce hair exports as polys. They're almost splines in that they are all separate, & are single points with beginning & end points. But they get closed somewhere in the process.
I'll have to check into that with CD4.
Mention of 3dl got me thinking.
Here's a render in 3dl (used iray -> 3dl converter for the skin, added reflection to the cornea, converted fur to ubersurface. Yes, it's one flat color, but it works)
The trick is to turn line tesselation to 0 so that it's not exporting any geometry, and export as OBJ. You could give that a try with Lightwave, but I don't know if that has any sort of hair system.

That's in C4D or Daz?
If in Daz, where is that paramater? I set mesh resolutiom to Base no the mesh but this sounds a different param.
Line tesselation is in the general parameters section of the actual hair object, not the haircap. You'll see viewport and render line tesselation parameters, and I zeroed them both, but it's possible that zeroing only one of them would work.
I guess the cat must be reeeeeally difficult to make.
Most in the weasel family are pretty vicious. LOL.
At least we have Zeus ;)
Asian short-clawed otters are also well worth avoiding. They have very powerful jaws in proportion to their size. Petting one is extremely illadvised, you could very well lose a finger!
Cheers,
Alex.
Thank you Oso3D for the 3DL image. That sounds highly doable.
So who's going to be first to make a ferret texture for it? LOL
I second the interest in a ferret texture.
No one's added a link to it? https://www.daz3d.com/weasel-by-am - there, next time I want to find this discussion it'll be easier. :)
I'm about to start a render of my wip villain, Jill, who uses ferrets for crime. (I've designed her outfit but I still need to decide which bodysuit I'm actually going to use before I start trying to make textures... And if I want to put tiny little ferret ears on her helmet or if that's too much)
She's vain as heck, manipulative, greedy, and arrogant, but she ADORES her ferrets.
Here's Jill and a white ferret
Stoat/Ermine/Weasel Don't forget Minks and Ferrets.
You're welcome!
I really appreciate how well it's rigged. It's very easy to use. I'm going to be working on ferret textures (probably a couple of color varieties) in a while and I also appreciate that it doesn't look like that'll be too complicated.
