Another content library question

My content library is out of control. The search function does not work very well if at all, but how can I make it to where I have my Victoria 4.2 stuff in one folder, my Genesis stuff in one folder, and my Genesis 2 stuff in another folder. Right now, everything is scattered around all over the place, even though all of my content is in one place, i.e. the "My Library" folder. Very frustrating. I looked around in the forum a bit, and it appears that the content library is a distinct trouble spot for many users. Also, I have content in my library that I know is there, but within the program it's not shown, or a generic icon is shown and nothing works. What am I missing?

If everything is installed correctly, then Victoria 4 will be found in Poser Formats > My Library > Figures > DAZ People. All Generation 4 (and before) figures are in Poser Format (CR2) and there is a folder called Runtime inside My Library where these should be installed to.

Genesis and Genesis 2 are DAZ Studio Format figures, and will be found in:

DAZ Studio Formats > My Library > People > Genesis
DAZ Studio Formats > My Library > People > Genesis 2 Female
DAZ Studio Formats > My Library > People > Genesis 2 Male

All of the Genesis and Genesis 2 folders have sub-folders for Clothing, Hair, Materials and Poses etc. etc.

When using the Search function in the Content Library pane, there is a drop down at the right hand side of where you enter the search string. The icon shows either a Cylinder or a file icon, and that means that you can search by File name or use the entry in the Database.

If you folder is completely messed up, the best thing to do would be to post a screenshot of the My Library folder, showing what folders are inside it. You could always reinstall the DAZ 3D content using the DAZ Install Manager (DIM) which can be very easy to do.

This might help and there are other threads on it. There may be a youtube on how to use it. Older products may not have metadata, but the new ones should.
