gap lips

what I'm trying to do is close that lil gap between g8f lips

i can only do so with pose dials.  Simple, but I'd rather it be a shaping morph.

cAn a pose bse turned into a shape dial?

I actually find it a bit weird that the base pose on a lot of  g8f characters lips is not closed. Like no I'm not permanently running around with my mouth open

I don't know why characters are created like that either. Is it an ethnic variation I'm not familiar with? Is it supposed to look sexy? For me, when I see that center lip gap as the default shape, it deters me from buying the  product.

I've noticed this since the 8,1 characters came about, maybe the later 8,0.  You'd have thought they fixed by now, but an extra -1-2 degress on the Jaw is a quick reslove.

Not sure what you all are talking about. I loaded up default 8.1 and her lips are closed by default.

now if you are talking about custom characters, like for example Moussos Echo, I actually love that look. I have a VR game with lifesize GF2 figures and when I create custom characters in it, i always include the parting of the lips since I like it so much.

EJFM Upper/Lower Not Occluded 01/02 can either add or subtract the gap from either the upper or lower, middle or full, but it's no longer available in this store; so, you'll have to buy it from EmmaAndJordi at Gumroad.

I think i know why...it hit me while  was studying the face ofs a friend who smokes...

CYLINDERS! the lip gap is for cylinders! Like cigarettes, straws, Twizzlers...are Twizzlers cylinders? indecision

oh, and it's also the look of someone who's seen something really pretty and are drooling.. now that I've realized i reckon I'll never stop feeling like the 3d ladies are ogling me. surprise

    the morphs xyer0 suggested worked!

Personally I love the look, it’s an inhale look used a lot by professional models and adds sexiness. Very simple to close lips with pose dials, not sure why you need a shaping morph, but if you own a lot morphs, just check under lips and you may find what you need, maybe making plumper lips or playing with various morphs will give you what you want. Playing with visemes can also affect lips. I use SH often to open lips and using that as a negative may close lips.

of course we can close them with whatever is around but doing it as a standart action is annoying since I rarely go for sexiness with the characters in my renders

Sounds like some morph that has been distributed with non-zero default value.

"mouth breathers" are useful, kind of like "cannon fodder." Someone has to climb into the faulty spaceshp or the story is going to be boring!

In any event, if the lips are modelled open then seting the close morph high enough to get rid of the gap will probably end up with the rest of the lips self-intersecting.

I like the look too, but I think I still prefer that the character's base morph have the lips fully closed.  I remember a number of characters would come that way, and include a lips parted morph.  That is definitely the way to go in my book.

We had a cat who always had a vacant expression and had his mouth slightly open. Not easily seen below, but he always had his mouth slightly open.

The tiles on the fireplace are 6" (150mm) square, he was a fairly big tiddles.

It did give an accurate reflection of his intellectual capacity. He never quite managed to work out that his tail was part of him, so never tucked it in when hiding from us. And, like many Maine Coons, he gave a muttered commentary on everything he did. Even when hunting.

    Regards,

    Richard
