Anyone know how InaneGlory's Photo Studio - Point and Shoot Iray integrates in with the rest of the Point and Shoot series, assuming someone is only interested in IRay? Trying ot figure out if I should pck up just the one for IRay one or the bundle of all four. Thanks!

The Iray P&S seems to be lights only: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/21885/start
The "older" P&S always had background props with it, which are really useful.
Also, I can recommend the "older" P&S for use in 3Delight. If you need something for 3Delight as well as Iray, I'd go for the bundle.

Ya I have the point and shoot bundle 1 and love it, I am debating on getting the bundle too, but I haven't used Iray really to understand it and if you need special materials to render your characters then I'm thinking I'm out for the time being but even so with the bundle you get the 3 point and shoot products the Iray would just be a bonus, i only use the the made lights in the bundle but they include a lot of options, I'll edit my pits and add a picture I rendered last night to post on the fit contol thread but I used stuff from bundle 1

This has been answered already, but I just want to chime in anyway. Point and Shoot Iray just has the Iray only light sets. They are very good and I have been using them in all of my Iray renders from the minute InaneGlory converted his LuxRender lights to Iray. Actually, it was a bit more than just a straight conversion, he basically started from scratch on all the light settings.
The other 3 Point and Shoot light sets in the bundle have full rigs for 3Delight, and also for LuxRender through the Luxus plugin. The Point and Shoot 1-3 sets also have the backgrounds. There are no backgrounds in Point and Shoot Iray, because the ones from all previous products auto convert very well. The only adjustments I have needed to make is possibly turning down the bump percentage.
Thanks everyone for the support, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have anymore questions.
    cheers!

This is a comparison of Point and Shoot 2/3Delight and Point and Shoot Iray/Iray renders for the same scene

    The 3Delight render uses:

    Victoria 6
    Victoria 6 HD Add-On
Alyssa Hair for Genesis 2 Female(s)
Chloe Dress for Genesis 2 Female(s)
InaneGlory's Photo Studio - Point and Shoot 2 Light setup 3pt Rim Right
    DMs Sensual V6 - I standing pose 05_F

I used the V6 Anna skin from the HD added on for Victoria 6 HD. I turned the intensity of Light 1 in the point shoot set down to about half its default setting to avoid blowing out the skin. Other than that, I did not make any adjustments and used the 3Delight materials. Rendered using Gamma Correction and Gamma 2.2.

For the Iray render I used the same scene with the following modifcations:
    IG Iray Essentials - Victoria 6 & Michael 6
InaneGlory's Photo Studio - Point and Shoot Iray using PaS2 light setup 3pt Rim Right Iray

The Ayssa hair has Iray material, which I used for the Iray render. The Chloe dress does not come with Iray material, although the promo images indicate they were rendered in Iray. I just use the 3Delight material and hoped for the best in auto translation.

Several points about the Iray render:

    - I set the "Render SubD Leval" to 4 for Victoria 6. I maybe could have gotten away with 3, but If I left it at the default 1, I lost all the HD detail in Iray render. This seems to be automatic in 3Delight renders.

    - I set the "Environment Mode" on the render properties to "Scene Only". The default "Dome and Scene" will light the scene with a sky dome that is as bright as these lights. Have to set it to "Scene Only" to only have the Inane Glory lights do the lighting.

    - I set the intensity of Light 1 to about 3/4 of the default value to try to match the 3Delight intensity.

The render time for the 3Delight images was about 30 minutes on my computer and the Iray render was about 2 hours.

The back drop texture is probably from Point and Shoot 3 and is the same in both renders. As DestinysGarden suggested, I probably should have reduced the bump strength.

My impression is that a lot of the difference between these images are caused by the materials. The lighting difference I see is that the rim light, light 2, appears brighter in the 3Delight render. I think this is caused by the adjustments I did to light 1 intensity. The 3Delight render has a intensity ratio (light 2/light 1) of 2.75 and the Iray 1.83.

The Chloe dress material looks somewhat shinny in the promo images, but it looks somewhat too shinny to me in the 3Delight render and too flat in the Iray render. I would guess the specular needs to be turned down in the 3Delight render. This is a very common adjustment that is needed when rendering at gamma 2.2 in 3Delight. The Chloe dress promo images indicate they were rendered in Iray, but there are no Iray materials that I could find.

The way this scene is setup is probably optimal for 3Delight renders. There are no walls for light t be scattering off from, only the paper roll. Iray would ray trace that light scattered off the walls and 3Delight would not. I think this is the reason the lighting comes out so similar.

could you please add some spec about the time it needed to render? (CPU?GPU?) for both 3dligh and iray?
    thx in advance

The render time for the 3Delight image on my computer was 29 min, 51 sec. The Iray render was 2 hours, but this was cut off by the Iray time limit in the settings. It was ~92% converged so it was close to "finished" in that time. I do not have a graphics card that Iray can use, so that was all CPU Iray render.
