Custom vertex normal in Daz

I'm doing hard surface stuffs and a common technique is to use custom normal to control smoothness of edges instead of normal map baking. However when imported into Daz it seems like custom normal is ignored ? Is it possible to change normal of an object in Daz manually (not just changing smoothness in general) maybe via a script ?

One of my biggest annoyances in DS. Looks amazeballs in blender, bring it into DS and it looks like poopballs instead with normal artifacts. Creation process takes ten times as long, having to be sure to import often, to make sure my changes still work in DS properly, before I get too far along and can't undo enough to get back.
I think Daz Studio calculates its own vertex normals, as I can't find any scripting methods to set them. Only to read them.
