First Bastion Divided Highway woes...where's the dang asphalt?  I've enclosed a few test renders to show what I mean...I'm trying to do a "runaway teen hitchhiking on a deserted road in the middle of the night"...as you see, I'm getting a starry sky where pavement should be!

Am I missing something?

    I assume that is this.

The only time I've seen an effect like the second picture, is when I used a water shader and it reflected the sky dome.

It comes in 3Delight Version and Iray version.

Are you sure you are loading the right version for your rendering preferences?

Yep, that's the divided Highway, and I am using Iray!

Next thought: are you using an HDRI with ground height set to manual rather than auto? If so, the grey visible in the first image could be the ground, and becomes stars because that's what the HDRI shows. Cure: set the environment tab ground height to auto.

Just downloaded and installed the set from the store. The iray version loads like this in preview. Asphalt clearly visible and renders like this. Clearly visible.

The grey you are seeing is something you placed into the set.  Maybe it loaded with your character  BUT it is not part of the Divided Highway Environment.

So @comixfana you asked the question Am I missing something?

You have ADDED something. It does look like it is related to your HDRI starrynight skydome. You could try in Render setting under the Environment tAB,  DRAW GROUND = OFF

I don't own the set, but in the first picture it clearly looks like there is some sort of ground plane intersecting the highway set a foot or so above the asphalt... you can see it intersecting the middle of the guardrail supports in the background.

Perhaps try raising the whole highway set up a couple of feet on the Y axis?

I do own the set,  I just answered the the question in the post above yours.  The OP added some plane during the character load that has nothing to do with the environment set.

Oops... I had written that earlier and forgot to hit post and went off to do something and after an hour or so picked up my iPad and saw I didn't post... also  noticed a incoherent word and edited it after posting without checking to see if anyone else had posted.

I was trying to help, because I've had this happen to me before... I wasn't trying counter anyone else's advice or suggestions.

I wasn't suggesting there was anything wrong with your set, as it looked like the ground plane was probably from something else... I didn't mean the ground plane was part of your set.

I thought that was clear because I implied your highway set was "the highway set" and the interfering ground plane was a "ground plane"... I probably should have chose better words, but I thought it implied they were unrelated.

From now on I'll just stick to stupid comments and bad jokes, it's what I'm meant for.

    Sorry to have interrupted.

    Cheers.

Absolutely no problem,  I also just want to help solve this for the OP.  McGuyver,  keep doing what your doing, you bring humor and help to the forums. Peace.
