Previous Versions of Daz Studio Installers?

Before going to 4.8, I'd like to have a back up installer of 4.7, Just in Case.
Are there links available to download them?

Rather than upgrade can't you just download 4.8 and set the installer to put it separate to 4.7?
This is an option, but having two separate installations can cause issues, particularly with plug-ins. A number of plug-ins (eg AoA Advanced Lights) will install files into the DS installation directory, and if you set up a separate install these plug-ins may need to be reinstalled, and told of the new location of the DS install in order to work correctly.
Unless you can see yourself needing to use both versions in the future, it is best to make a backup of the IM00013176-02_DAZStudio47Win64bit.zip file sitting in your download directory (this is because downloading 4.8 may well delete the 4.7 install file). Then install 4.8 and play around with it to see if anything no longer works that you really need, and then uninstall 4.8 and reinstall 4.7 if there are issues you can not live with.
So...is the answer no, there is't some way to download the 4.7 installer?
I, too, am in need of the installer for 4.7. It has disappeared from my product library, but I know it was there (I checked) when I grabbed 4.8.

Correct...if you don't have it saved already, then it is gone. Once the update hit the servers this morning, that was the end of 4.7.
If you do not have the 4.7 installer then you either deleted it yourself, or you instructed DIM to delete installation downloads after installation (which would be an odd thing to do as you would not be able to uninstall and then reinstall any products. Otherwise 4.7 installer should be available in the download directory.
If you downloaded 4.7 without DIM, then the installer should be wherever you downloaded it to, unless you have explicitly deleted it. I suspect the installation file is still somewhere on your system.
Which also means, while it's on your mind - this is the time to archive the 4.8 stand-alone installers.

....
I'm not going to print my original response here because I'll get threatened by the mods again, instead I'll thank you politely for I guess your editorializing on why someone would ask my question.

Or I was - er, you were waiting to purchase a more powerful computer before downloading the installer to begin with ... and now cannot download it at all.
Was there anything in 4.7 that isn't in 4.8?

No - DIM doesn't care about the product description - it goes by the sku and the package id; 4.8 has the same sku and package id as 4.7 (which is why it shows as an update in DIM) and once you download it the 4.7 DIM installers are gone - neatly and cleanly cleared away for the updated files. Uninstall is handled by the installation manifest file DIM creates when it installs packages and does not in any way depend on what is in your download folder.

I had assumed that the OP had not yet downloaded 4.8, and was asking what to do to save 4.7 before downloading it. If the download has already happened then, yes, the original 4.7 zip file may have already been zapped.

Havos is corrrect. I have my DIM set not to delete the zips after installation, so I have copies of everything should I ever need it.
Aside from the fact that modern versions of DIM work rather well and apparently have their advantages, my early experiences with DIM left me with a sour taste. So I've treated DIM as "Don't Install Me" or "Dangerous Installer Mechanism", and have stuck with the laborious task of manually downloading all software and content from DAZ. Yeah, it's a pain, but as a result I have ended up with copies of all the zips (or exe's) for every officially released version of Studio back to version 1, and half their content catalog squirreled away somewhere in my archives. I also have all my e-mail since 1995 and gazillions of photos that will never see light of day again and a browser "Favorites" list longer than the Manhattan phone book. Once in a very great while, my packrat mentality pays off but I understand why some people don't save old files in archives.
I do use DIM, and also have copies of every product I have ever purchased from DAZ. I did not use DIM when it was first released, but later, so I never encountered any of the initial teething issues it may have had. I have to say it is now a product I could not live without. One of its best features is the ability to tell me exactly where every file related to a particular product is located. Before DIM I was manually moving around installed files after installation, so that I would be able to find them again, but I do not bother with that anymore. Installation is a one button click, as is deinstallation.

I can't speak for others, but I thought that my "Product Library" was an archive. It never occurred to me that items would be would be automatically removed. Oh well - live & learn.

Don't trust anything in "The Cloud"! :ohh: I'm not even particularly fond of banks, and keep my wealth in glass canning jars buried in the swamp. The interest is about the same!
You've got enough to bury? Or is it strawberry jam? And if it is, why are you burying it?
