I did not at all expect this and would not have installed Daz Studio 4.8 via the IM had I known.
I was very happy with my Daz Studio 4.7, why did the new Studio install do this?

Do I have to buy new lights now , new shaders... or can I use what I have?

Is there a way to get Daz Studio 4.7 back.

I am confused and also upset, I wish I had known. sighh

    Yes, your 4.7 was overwritten.

But there is no need to buy anything new. Just re- select 3Delight as render Engine in the render settings, and that will render everything the way you rendered with 4.7. The new version od DS has an improved version of the 3Delight under its hood. :-)
As for the new Renderer Iray, you will find information here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/56788/

This is great news, but where in the rendersettings can I select 3Delights, I been through it a few times now and either blind or stupid.

My experience so far is not smooth.

I have 4.8/3Delight crashing consistently on a simple scene that the previous version had no issue rendering.

I have not yet really rendered anything in 4.8, but I shall use 3Delight .
So far, from what I rendered all is good and not crashes.
