My "Posing/Shaping window went blank, other windows work OK

I need some help please. on both my Daz4.7 and 4.8 Beta the posing/shaping pane or window has gone blank and remains the same color as the margin, deep grey. My other windows or panes work. Lighting/Creating, Surfacing/Rendering, Building Scripting all seem OK. The first thing I checked was the tab to open the window or close it. I am an advanced user, I know you can pull or push the tiny tab to resize or 'fold away' a pane or window such as the Posing/Shaping window or pane, or even pull it out and go full screen. This has not helped me though. Am running Windows 8.1, 64bit, 16 gigs RAM, quad proc... It will still render, but it is very difficult to pose a figure without being able to see it in the posing pane.

Can you please post a screenshot, it would be much easier to help you?
I will try to do the screen shot, right now my machine is tied up, I am reinstalling 4.7 and 4.8. The problem presents on both of them. The pane will not open. All other panes both open and contract but Posing/Shaping remains the color of the margins, with any/every camera.
OK, here are two screen shots. I just tried to delete and reinstall DAZ, this time the new 4.8 PRO. Note that the problem has occurred on Daz 4.7, Daz 4..8 Beta and Daz 4.8 Pro. Same exact symptoms. Any ideas please!
You have parameters in the Parameters pane and not in the Lights pane because it isn't a light you have selected. Your second screen-shot shows the Lighting activity tab, so it isn't set up for posing figures.
Thank you Richard, but I don't understand what you mean. In the image with the screen in the perameters tab it should show the dress. Notice that I have no lights added to this scene anyway. The dress shows up in every tab except Posing/Shading. It should show up.
Notice that it doesn't show in the Poser/Shaping with the 'posing' sub tab (far right) selected either.
Under your Posing and Shaping tab, you do NOT have a Viewport
With Posing and Shaping selected, go to Window > Panes (Tabs) > Viewport, and that will get you a new Viewport pane. Drag it to the top of the grey part of the window, and when you see a yellow line, drop it.
Thanks Jimmy, but that is one of the first things I tried. When I do so I never get a new viewport pane which I can not drag anywhere..
Again, I am an experienced user. I greatly fear that Microsoft update or MacAfee update is not compatible with Daz 4.7, Daz 4.8 Beta, and Daz 4.8 (new).
Nothing unusual about my machine, just windows 8.1, and it is stripped of most other programs to make it faster.
Thanks, and please don't give up!
It looks to me like your Viewport pane is in the group with the Parameters, Shaping and Posing. Click on the little right arrow as shown in the image below, and I think the Viewport is at that end of the tabs.
Just drag it into the right place. If that is not the answer, I cannot understand why another Viewport would not appear, it can only be because one is already there :)
SUCCESS !! :cheese:
Jimmy C., It finally worked.
I got a semi-minimized box first correctly displaying Posing/shaping. It was perhaps 1.5 inches square. I was able to enlarge it and finally it magnetically popped into the correct pane, filling it normally.
Hey Jimmie, what is your favorite charity? I would like to 'pay forward' a little Karma here and make a donation. You made my day bro, now I want to reward some non-profit a little bit. Don't be shy, lemme' know.
Thanks to both of you for assisting. :)
Glad you got it fixed Mike, and thank you for the offer, you are a real gentleman.
I am a CV (Community Volunteer) here, and I get a lot of pleasure from helping out (when I can).
See you on the forums :)
My default charity is Breast Cancer Research, thank you for spurring the donation. You too are a gentleman sir.

Thank you so much, a very noble gesture. Heartwarming in fact.
I'm actually having the same issue, but I followed the instructions above; furthermore, curiously, the viewport says it's on (turning it off and on did not fix things, as show on image one.) Pasting the images below; images 2 shows drawers pulled out to show that I looked there first.
Sorry, if I missed bits here and repeating advice already given, i skipped the middle .... I had a similar issue recently in DS4.7 but was able to resolve it by 1 - updating my graphics drivers as a windows update had messed them up and then 2 turning the viewing pane off and back on. Despite other issues I'm having the viewing pane has worked fine since.
