Iray decal node issue

Hi,

I am trying to use the Iray decal node for custom body tattoos. I managed set everyting up and it looks good. The only issue is that the projection is overlaying body parts that I don't want to be projected.

Is there a way to project only on specific part of the body? In the attached imaged you can see that the projection on the fingers that I don't want. I only want it to be on the back/side of the body.

Should I use another technique or is there a way around this?

Thanks,

Yoni

Render twice and combine in postprocessing?

After the render you already have switch off the visibility of the decal, activate the spot render tool. Change its settings to "New window" and select the area of the fingers for rendering.

Overlay the two images in an image editing program like Gimp, Affinity Photo or Photoshop and combine the two renders using masks.

Try lowering "depth" of the decal. Lower it as much as possible until it starts disappearing on the skin then dial it a few clicks back.

Have 2 Genesis maybe?  Hide the hand on one, and all but the hand on the other.
