After installing 4.8 can't access content (Solved!)

Please bear with me on this, I'm gonna try and describe the problem as best as possible... My main problem is I'm mostly a Mac user, but I'm now using a Dell machine, so I'm not as familiar with the setup...
Previously I had installed 4.7 and let the install manager do it's thing... I assumed that it knew where stuff should go, otherwise what's the point of an install manager...
Since some of the stuff I installed where from discs (like old content from 3D Artist, etc), my own models or Freebies, so when I went to install those, I had a hard time find where the content library was located... I just figured that was because of my being unfamiliar with the current Windows OS (previously I used DS on XP and used the old installers)... But I did feel that the content library was in an odd location.
Since DS was able to find the content, I figured it was installed correctly, so all I did was make a shortcut to help me find the folder to manually install stuff.
Today I installed 4.8 and while Studio seems to work, it can't find anything... No content.
When I went to look for my content, I found that I have two DAZ content libraries...
1- Computer > OS(C:) > Users > Public > Public Documents > My DAZ 3D Library (this has all the previous content I installed)
Some of the content has modification dates from back in April (last used) and some are today.
There is also a folder in Public Documents named "DAZ 3D" which contains "InstallManager" (last modified in April).
The other location in question is
2- Computer > OS(C:) > Users > Vic (my account) > My Documents > DAZ 3D
In DAZ 3D is a folder named "Studio" and in it two folders, both of which are empty- "My Library" and "Render Library".
My Library seems to have been created today, and Render Library, back in April.
Is this normal/correct or is something glitched up?
I checked the preferences, but there doesn't seem to be anything that shows the current pathway.
I also looked up this problem, but what I'm finding is not what I'm experiencing, so sorry if this is a FASQ...
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions on this matter.

Those are the correct default paths - My DAZ 3D Library is for DIM-installed content, the My Library folder in your own documents is for your own content and can also be used for most freebies and other store content. You can of course add new locations as suits you, those are only the defaults. The Render Library is the default save location for renders - there's a pane in DS for viewing that, the way you view content, that shows a preview of the images but again it's not compulsory and if you use it can be placed elsewhere.
You can see which folder DS is using in the Content Directory Manager - Edit>Preferences>Content Library tab>Content Directory Manager button, of Content Directory Manager in the Content Library option menu.
Is your content missing only in Smart Content or do you also have nothing under DAZ Studio Firmats and Poser Formats in the Content Library pane?
Hello, thanks for responding...
I can see nothing in either Smart Content or Content Library... there are no choices at all.
The bottom image is the path I have it set to... I figured maybe changing it to that would fix the problem... It didn't.... before it was set to the empty folder (My Library) in My Documents > DAZ 3D > Studio
You probably want both the My DAZ 3d Library and the My Library folders selected. Looking at your screen shot I think the section with the folders is collapsed - try clicking the darker area just above where it says 0-0 and below where it has the text to search by box.
I added the My Library folder to the Content Directory Manager, but nothing has changed.
I opened the collapsed window... but nothing has changed there either.
That's interesting - I think you've found a bug. If you click the lined button at top-right of the pane is View Side-by-Side checked? if it is, click View as List or View as Tree and the dark area should double in thickness (if you see what I am seeing here) and you should then be able to expand to show the folder list. There doesn't seem to be a way to expand a collapsed folder list with the View Side-by-Side option.
Edit: no, I'm an idiot - if you have the list in Side-by-Side the expand button is on the left-hand edge of the pane, because that';s where the list is. D'oh! And sure enough, it is (faintly, it's weaker when vertical) visible half way down the blank area on the left in your screen shot.
I'm not sure if this helps... sorry it took a few minutes to figure out how to save screen capture in Windows...
First Picture is List, Next is Tree, After that- Side By Side...
Nothing seemed to change view-wise, but I suppose that on works if content thumbnails are being shown... right?
If this is a bug, any suggestions on what to do?
When it's View as List or View as Tree you need the lower half of the toggle widget, the one with the tick in the screen shot.
it happend to me also
by mistake i installed PostgreSQL Valentina CMS beta+ public in DIM or something like that ...
when i unninstaled PostgreSQL Valentina CMS i reinported metadata and wow everithing went back
sorry on my english
(i dont remeber if i installed again PostgreSQLCMS)
PostgreSQL is much less prone to corruption than Valentina - and I think your Valentina database was corrupt, or on the verge of corruption, which is why it failed to convert. You would, given that you had to reimport anyway (which again indicates that the database was corrupt - the conversion to PostgreSQL doesn't change the Valentina database) reimporting and using PostgreSQL.
Thank you both.
I uninstalled PostgreSQLCMS and then reinstalled it, then I realized what Richard meant about the Toggle Widget, so I clicked it and it opened another menu showing the content... It probably was there all along or possibly uninstalling/reinstalling PostgreSQLCMS did something... I believe for whatever reason I've never closed that window in previous versions (by default it was open) and have always had it set by default to "List" which I never changed either. The default here seems to be "Side By Side" and the window closed, so being that setting didn't have ability to toggle open, I wasn't noticing that changing back and forth between "List" and "Tree" had anything different.
Weird that "Side by Side" does not have the toggle widget... I suppose it opens differently?
Well, either way I'm stupid... But now I can access my content and can get around to playing with iRay.
I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning, opening up the box that his dad finally remembered to cut air holes in this time with his new puppy inside!
Thank you Richard for all your help and thanks Limun for the suggestion.
