Iray on Low-end cards

I'm not sure but I just installed DAZ 4.8 with Iray. And only I have is a nVidia GeForce 8400GS. Others installed on mine are a intel i3 Quad-Core, 4GB of ram, and that's it. I doubt if it works but I really want to try out Iray to see how the render quality turns out (next to Reality).
If no, then I'm just gonna be stuck on Reality (doubt if 4.1 will come out anytime soon).

As far as I can tell, that card is not CUDA compatible and has only 256Mb of ram. That is not going to help rendering.
But you can use Iray via CPU and it should be on par with the performance of Luxrender or maybe even a bit faster if properly set up.

How do I set up iRay to be CPU rendering? Unfortunately, the Document center has gone AWOL.
No need to set anything. If there is no suitable graphics card, Iray will default to using the CPU only. No problem.
