is it possible to orbit around selected object instead of whole scene?

Hey guys,
So I have a pretty large scene, and when I use the orbit tool, it becomes almost impossible to orbit around my character, since the orbit tool tries to orbit around the whole scene instead. I was wondering if it is possible to just orbit around the selected object in the scene. I know iClone defaults to this setup.

Thanks guys,

Davide

First, make sure if you want to save your current view that you create a camera matching what the viewport sees. Then:

select whichever object within the scene you wish to orbit around. In the viewport, click the "frame" icon (three icons down from the orbit icon.) The view will jump to frame that object, you may have to zoom back out to see your whole scene. Now, when you orbit, you are orbiting around that framed object instead of whatever you were previously orbiting around.

Everything Sean said, with one addition: if you select your figure in the scene tab, then right click on the frame icon, the orbit will switch to your selected figure without zooming in on her. In other words, it won't change what you see in the viewport until you start to orbit the camera. This is just like Sean's tip except you won't have to zoom back out.

ctrl(Win)/cmd(Mac)-f for frame, ctrl/cmd-shift-a for aim.
