Urban Future 7 with Daz 4.20

Urban Future 7 is one of my favorite environments. It has some steam props that render as black tiles with Daz 4.20.

How could I fix this?

Maybe show an image of what you are seeing.

    And how do you install?

Check you're not using 3Delight with the Iray version of the set.

I'm using Iray and it's not about the install but a change between 4.16 and 4.20.

I did this picture with Daz 4.16

Notice the steam in front of the cook and on the right.

    Daz 3D

    Now this is Daz 4.20

    Daz 3D

I skipped the steam on the right but kept the black tiles in the kitchen.

I see it too in the 4.20 beta (4.20.1.34). The effect is caused by the refraction setting of the steam planes. Likely due to a change in the Iray renderer behavior when light interacts with opacity. You can fix it by selecting the steam planes and then setting the "refraction Weight" to zero (it is set to 0.1 by default). Adfter that adjustment it looks fine. See attached.

    Ciao

For reference here is what looks like with the default settings:

    Steam.png
    1600 x 667 - 2M
    Steam default.png
    800 x 333 - 657K
