Does using openGL items slow an Iray render?

I want to do an Iray render of a room with characters in it which is all Iray except 2 furniture items and most of what one character is wearing being openGL. How will this effect my Iray time and complicate it as well as effect the final outcome image please.

What do you mean? OpenGL is an API used for getting a GPU to do things, not a file format, and although some 3Delight shaders do have OpenGL versions those are used only for preview, not for final rendering.

As long as they are using the standard 3delight shaders, rather than a custom shader, Daz Studio will apply the Iray Uber base at render time - it will slightly slow the start of the render, but probably not noticeably, and should have no affect during the actual rendering. In many cases the result will be fine, but for things like glass and metal you may want to manually apply Iray Uber Base so you can adjust the settings (select the item in the Scen, open the Surfaces pane, seelct the item in the Editor tab, then in the presets tab apply the Iray Uber Base and make any needed adjustments, overall or to selected surfaces, in the Editor tab).
