Saving an imported object.

I'm working on converting a Light Wave model into Daz..I've got it imported and scaled. What I'd like to know is how after I have it set and colored can I save it so that I can a) have it as a reusable prop without having to go thru the set up again, and b) put my version with the original LWO files to store in my back up archive so I can reload it later (or pass it along, I suppose).

Please note, the second part is the more important side of this.
Especially as I want to move where the OBJ file is currently.

Save it as a Scene Subset from File > Save As, and you can then store it with your other scenes in the Content Library.

I am not sure if DAZ Studio will reference the OBJ again when you reload it, I think DS will create it's own geometry in the 'data' folder, so you would need to include that if the OBJ is yours to give away in the first place.

File>Save as>Support Assets>Figure prop Asset. If you like you can add a new folder as a DAZ Studio content directory (right-click on DAZ Studio Formats in the Content Library pane and select Add Base Directory) then make sure you set that as the base path in the options dialogue when saving, then fill in the Author and product fields to determine the folder names used within the Data folder. Save the preset in the file browser to a location in the same directory (such as Props/Vehicles/Mine) and - aside from any textures - all the files will be in the one place and can be archived. Alternatively you could just save a materials preset to use on the imported OBJ file.
