G8.1M deformed knees
Unflinchingly
Posts: 6
I thought this was something I'd done, but it turns out that G8.1 Male knees get deformed in a bent position. In the attached photo two base males 8.1 on the left, 8 on right in the Base Poses seated position.
Any thoughts, because I am reluctant to do stuff with G8.1 if I am going to get this going forward.
Thanks.

That is most likely a corrective morph that should trigger only when a particular heavy/muscular character is applied but it is not set up correctly and triggers in all cases. Obvsiouly a Genesis 8.1 Male character since 8 is OK. Have you recently installed such a character, assuming this is a new issue? have you checked there are no updates for your Daz content?
Thanks for your response. I did load up the images using just vanilla G8 and G8.1 males out of the box. I merely added the briefs.
Are you saying that the G8.1 error doesn't happen on your installation of DAZ?
No, I'm pretty sure it's a badly set up corrective morph (the whole point is that it is applying when it shouldn't, when you are using the base shape or another character shape).
Ah, I just submitted a ticket for this... it is Malcolm HD which is triggering this problem (specifically MalcolmHDJCMkneebendright/left).
Thank you Nemesis10 - I only recently installed Malcolm, so you have saved me hours of detective work. Cheers!!
So, I removed the entire Malcolm character but there are still some residue issues in this area. See the attached render, there is still a marked difference between 8 and 8.1 - so I guess there must be another badly coded JCM.
How do I see the JCMs being applied to the base character? I have been searching online, but I am not finding anything useful.

I found how to show the hidden morphs and found that Fred 8.1 is also affecting the G8.1M base figure, even when Fred 8.1 is not dialled in. I am surprised that DAZ are not picking this up. How would Oscar Wilde have put it? To have one rogue JCM affecting the G8.1M base character might be a coincidence, but two suggests a certain recklessness in quality control.

Perfect solution! Thanks for the thread
dude, what quality control, that costs money...
