Wrapping primatives

HI, I just wondered if theres a way to wrap the textures of a gen 2 - gen 8 model (including clothing) around a primative sphere, you know like you see in cartoons where a character is squished into a ball?

I've tried with rendering the character then putting the render on the sphere using the image layer thing..but the results where....a bit crap to be honest.

I know it can be done in Gmod..but I cant for the live of me work out how

any help would be much appreciated

    The texture of a figure is not a picture of the figure, there are lots of blank areas which will still show if you simply wrap it around a promitive. Matters are further complicated in the daz figures as they all use two or more maps, splitting the body up into parts, so without recombining the maps in an editor or dividing the promitive into multiple surface groups you couldn't fit the whole thing on anyway. You might be better off looking at a modeller that will "sphereise" a mesh - I believe Blender can do this.
