Strange Issue Loading Clothing

digitelldigitell Posts: 577

I am having problems with loading this item:

https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-brynn-clothing-and-accessories-for-genesis-8-females

I have had this in my library for sometime now...and have Never had an issue using it before. Until now..I tried to load a clothing item and I get an error that the file does not exist. It is there in my library, and I look in explorer and the file is there as always..nothing different. But Studio just refuses to see it for some reason. All other clothing and items load fine. Just this set will no longer load. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know what may be happening?

What does the log say (Help > Troubleshooting > Log)?

Adn how do you install content?

  • digitelldigitell Posts: 577

I install content using Daz Install Manager. I looked at that log and it says: 2022-05-26 15:42:43.375 [INFO] :: Could not open file : /People/Genesis 8 Female/Clothing/3D Universe/Brynn/Brynn Pants.duf
    File does not exist.

The file does exist. I have used it in the past and nothing has changed. I see the files in my library and in my computer explorer.

Since I posted this..I went to the duf file in explorer and clicked on it and it loaded in my scene.

I can do it that way..but trying to load it within Studio I get file does not exist. So Strange!

Is that the only item (you know of) that has problem loading?

You said you could load it from Explorer. If you load it that way can you then change materials?

  • digitelldigitell Posts: 577

Materials do not work either trying to load them from Studio. I get the same error. I can go find them and apply them manually tho. At least I can still use the item. It is not lost...I just have to jump thru hoops to do it.

Thank you for trying..it is a mystery! It may too be some glitch because I have not yet updated to the recent version..I have been putting it off because I was between projects. I didnt want to chance it, but I will do that now and maybe that will fix it. Thank you so much for taking time to try to help. I appreciate it :)

I am out of ideas, if not Daz Studio has had a hiccup.

Do you have the Beta, and if so is it the same experience.

  • digitelldigitell Posts: 577

No I dont have the Beta, I am updating Studio now. It has to be a hiccup of some sort. Technology..ugh..

If the updated DS doesn't solve it, I would re-install the content.

  • digitelldigitell Posts: 577

Nope that didnt fix it..I already uninstalled and reinstalled the content, that didnt fix it either.

Do you see Uninstall in the right-click menu on the product container (the thumbnail for the whole product in the products tab of Smart content or the folder icon under Products>D in the Content Library pane)? If you do, try clicking it (this will have no effect on the Install Manager files)

  • digitelldigitell Posts: 577

Richard!!! I went to the products tab in Smart content and found the whole outfit, right clicked it and hit Uninstall. Then went back to my content library and tried loading the clothing..that fixed it!! What the heck? Is there a reason uninstalling in Smart content will fix this? I am confused...Thank you SO much!!  :)

The fameous Daz Connect strikes back!

I didn't think that that could be the problem when the path in the log was right.

Advice is, if you don't use Daz Connect, then don't log into Daz Studio.

Nope, stay with Install manager but make sure you don't duplicate installation with connect
