Don't know what this means ...

Hi, I'm buying products (old stuff) for use in Daz 4.20. Quite a few have the following compatability requirements:

Compatible Software: Daz to Unity Bridge, Poser, Daz to Blender Bridge, Daz to Unreal Bridge

Not sure what this all means. Will they be OK in the latest Daz version? TIA for any feedback.

Compatible with the bridges only means exactly that: they can be sent via bridge to another program. If a product lists Poser compatibility but not DS compatibility, that might mean that it's an older product made for Poser, but most Poser products (at least in the Daz store) will still work in DS, albeit without metadata for Smart Content.

As a rule, Iray rendering was introduced to the marketplace, around product SKU 21000-24000. Though there may be some exceptions, general product with sku lower than that, were not optimized for iray rendering. They might still render fine in DS but they tend to be discounted significantly because there is work involved to make them usable in DS iray renders. But if you have iray shaders and plan to convert that may be a time consuming effort. .

Thanks. That's one of the mysteries cleared up!

I use Daz to convert their products to FBX or OBJ to use in iClone where I've developed scenes for years. I can do it in Daz but it would take me 10 times as long and I'm not sure I want to follow the learning curve at my age. I'm not worried about iRay shaders. iClone can do conversions on existing materials. Photo-real or anything close is not on my agenda and re-texturing props comes easy to me.  I do comic and book covers. When it comes to textures, the nastier the better. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. The current sale at 73% is worth the chance that most will work even if a few screw up my machine or go nowhere. BTW, I've used some of your products, and many other PA's here, in my art. If you get a chance, check out :

With that workflow, you should be able to use the poser content effectively.  You have a good collection of retro scifi covers on your page.

Thank you. All content from that order was successfully downloaded and converted.  BTW, your roads and rocks are featured in some of my art but you may not recognize your products as they may be hidden behind fog or depth of field distortion. I use the excellant products from you and other artists here as a means to set the time and/or location of the story. However, the products themselves are not the story I'm trying to convey. But I have to tell you. You and the artists here are top notch. The prices are the best. I buy from many sources but nothing comes close to the quality and quantity here at Daz. Bravo!
