Price Jump in Sales

I was adding items to my cart and experienced a sudden price jump at 9am HST.  Anen't the sale prices good for 24 hrs?  See attached - In particular "Swee Chaoz" and "Xandy Hair".

My guess is that the low prices were a mistake and they finally corrected them. It's been going on all morning.

Seems just poor practice of "correcting" things. You won't find many clients suddenly paying double when they're ready to checkout

To answer my question - Inflation gone wild.

I'm not even going to attempt to understand the prices today. I just say thank you for the discounts. I ended up spending quite a bit!

Some things advertised as being on sale for Memorial Day were not on sale when put into the cart. Other things that were not advertised were heavily discounted for no apparent reason. The store is just chaos today. If you see a good price, buy the item, but don't expect the price to last all day. Later today it may cost twice as much or half as much. There is no logic and no way to predict. What a way to run a store!

Yeah, DAZ's store went a bit chatoic this morning. I was receiving notifications left and right about things in my wish list going on sale for crazy prices. I'm glad I have that browser add in that lets me know when things go on sale. I end up making several small purchases. At the same time, I had a few items that were shown as one price for one minute and then went up the next. That's what I get for looking some more instead of just buying once they were in my cart. :)

Took me an hour or more just to get my cart ready and when I was about to pay, noticed the prices had changed to almost twice from what they were. Luckly, I noticed the change in the total amount before I made my purchase.

The one time I decided to skip on a 20% off gift card and this crazy low prices happens... SMH

Yeah... over an hour spent on building a cart wasted yet again.  Remember how the new software was going to solve all these problems?

I went through and checked now I know, most my grabs still the same price but 3 are not, I impulse added them because I saw they were cheap not because I thought there was a glitch

I have returned stuff in the past when that has happened but honestly sick of this BS especially when I have been trying NOT to spend much

    because reasons

There's no reason for you to return stuff. You bought what was offered at the offered price.

I looked a little and didn't see any thread, and rather than start a thread, thought I'd just ask an OT question here...

Have there not been any New Releases over Memorial Day Weekend? I swear the products at the top of the list haven't changed since maybe Friday? Is something wrong with multiple browsers on my end, or am I crazy and it's not unusual for there to be nothing new for several days?

  • WonderlandWonderland Posts: 7,027

I did end up spending most of the gift card I purchased yesterday on great deals. I guess my cart was stable by the time I checked out but I did see on DAZ Deals that some of the prices were lower this morning. Apparently the Coral mega bundle was around $20 earlier! I wish I had caught that glitch! But with the 80% off coupon it came to $37, not bad... Everything I got was 73%-87% off and the prices haven’t changed.

When profiting from a glitch sale, I see it as the balancing for all the times when DAZ sales don't work as intended in the other direction. I only try to not glitch-buy stuff from some DAs that I consider as valuable to me to not hinder their ability to produce more products that I kinda automatically wishlist. Except when the glitchy stuff is so old, that I should see a really big reduction in base price anyway.

Yeah, I got some scruples, but not too many... cheeky

Which generally get fixed, and for which sales support will generally issue a refund if people purchased before the fix.

I normally don't buy if I can tell it's an obvious error but this morning thought they were genuine sales so grabbed a few things too.

Not that it works the other way. When I was new here I once bought a bunch of assets which qualified me for a free item.and as soon as I hit purchase I realised I'd forgotten to put the free item in the cart so opened a ticket. Daz wouldn't give me the item unless I could prove that the offer had been made. By the time they came back to me the sale had disappeared and because I hadn't taken a screen shot of the sales page I missed out.

Silly me for thinking they would have a record of their sale from 3 days prior. That left a bit of a bad taste but lesson learned.

yes I don't intentionally buy stuff when it's a glitch.

I did once years ago and witnessed the fallout from it on social media where PAs were very upset (fortunately even then I mostly grabbed a few DOs, I tried to make it right by buying some stuff from the couple of PAs who I did grab a thing from later), my collateral damage was not actually much but from what I saw on facebook others went wild and of course some of us had discussed it was happening and rightfully were admonished for telling others there was a glitch going on.

That incident truly put me in my place and I don't really post on any 3D art groups and discussions anymore besides the fact my art is not that great blush I just follow some and like stuff now,

Yeah, the prices were low, but they weren't crazy out of line with sales from years past, it was a major holiday for retail here in the States, and I assumed it was to compete with Renderosity's BOGO promotion that had already sucked away a ton of my CG bucks this weekend.   Silly me, I forgot that this was Taffi-DAZ, which seems bound and determined to make me want to shop elsewhere...

Yeah, they've played that game on me more than once lately.  It either says something about the way their CS is now being handled, or how terribly managed their store has become.  Or both.

so we should be expecting some emails then surprise

I would return the items as none were anything I needed, just tossed in with ones I did want

(and those at least seemed legit when I checked them after the glitch was presumably over but now everything is much dearer so I honestly don't think I can ever trust any sales in future which will definitely save me money )

simply because hey cheap why not, I even pruned my cart as didn't want to spend too much, of other things that were likely glitches looking back.

I wonder if I should already uninstall them in readiness surprise I haven't downloaded any on my Win10 yet just my Win7, even the Aiko3 outfit I bought is now over $12

OK have for now, not used anything yet

Sorry, but legally speaking, there's really no grounds for asking for a return here. The prices were up on the offical website for quite a long while - they weren't obviously ridiculous, compared to prices in sales we've seen before - and it's absolutely not the customer's job to check up on current running sales and whether the prices match or not. This is a store. They sell things at the advertised prices. If a mistake happens, it's up DAZ to refund the PAs for the difference in price, because they screwed it up - not the customers. Seriously, this store is run by adult professionals, supposedly. Let' not make like they were poor sweet toddlers who just don't know any better and need our continuous help and supervision. Mistakes happen, you deal with the consequences as dignified as you can, and move on.

Daz hasn't doen so. This why we hate speculative forays, they get taken as the basis for further discussion as if true.

Really sorry about this, I didn't mean to make it sound like it was actually happening - rather the contrary, since it's so unlikely. Getting your point!

I haven't gotten a deal on a glitch sale since that huge one during Thanksgiving one year that I thought was some really crazy Cyber Monday deal. Or maybe it was a real Cyber Monday deal. It was never stated by DAZ 3D one way or the other.
