When something cannot be moved what to do to make it work

sometimes, Ill bring in an object not intended for a character but I  I will use it with

I will not have hte figure selected so the item comes in not parented to anything-but if the figure isnt zeroed Ill have to move the item to put it on the body, or the figure can be zeroed or an m3 hair put on genesis will have to moved in place-

with some things daz will not let me move them, it just happened with the belt from dforce monk robe g8m     I did make sure it has no parent , it cannot be moved with either parameters or the move tool

If the belt cannot be moved on it's own, it is fitted to another item or figure - Fitted items do not need to be parented,
